What to do in Lake District in the rain?

As above really! Does anyone have any suggestions for places to visit in the rain with a toddler and 4 adults?

    Thanks for any help!

Where abouts are you in the Lakes??

has to be the Pencil Museum, as places go it's not actually that bad.

Had plenty of rain when we went last Summer to Bowness.

Bowness has the Beatrix Potter museum and a Cinema (albeit a small, 70's style one). You also have the Aquarium at the bottom end of the lake (Newby Bridge??) There's also Holker Hall (sp?) which has a classic car museum, and the Cars of the Stars museum in Keswick.

I was going to suggest that as well. I remember seeing that massive pencil when I was a young un. Probably looks smaller now though. Like Curly-Wurlys

I think the Lake District you have to get some wet weather gear on and do exactly what you would do if it were dry. Letting the weather control your holiday is a sure fire way of boredom.

Hope you've got your macs & umbrellas, I'd imagine it's even more wet & windy there, then here!

Go for walks its only rain

yeh deffo try the aquarium, i was really surprised how good it was. Also when you come out the steam train goes from right outside so you can have a ride on that.

Walking in the rain is cool though.

Don't you think he will mind 4 adults and a toddler coming round then?

He probably wouldn't mind because he is a sweetie.

go to wilfs at staveley for a coffee and then into Kendal. a trip to kirkby lonsdale maybe or even as far as Hawes.
Kendal has the brewery arts centre for the cinema, there is docker park farm for the little one at Arkholme near Kirkby Lonsdale. i'll keep thinking.
