Think my first one was this

Swish!

Morning
Snap! Mine was also the phillips diga. Awesome back then.
When them big phones first came out everyone couldn't wait to get smaller ones then the smaller ones arrived everyone wants big phones again. Wonder in a few years will it be all about small phones again.

Trends come in waves, so who knows?! I personally think no though. Back then, all phones could really do was make calls, read text messages (single line of text XD) and use a calculator. Now it's anything and everything, so I don't think they'll get smaller... I don't think they'll get much bigger either!

Not taking the mickey but that's a really good looking phone! Say what you will, Sony make some good looking gear
I had a Philips that looked very similar to the diga but was blue (exclusive to Orange if i remember)
LOL it was the diga.

I bet the majority of us had this one but few will admit it

Does anyone remember the days when phones where used for phoning people rather than walking headlong into street furniture?
Mine was an Ericsson back in about 96. Was on One 2 One or whatever they were called before becoming T-mobile. Phone supported SMS but the network didn't.

For a few weeks then got this beauty http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/vintage_mobile/24275352/106838/106838_original.jpg

Those Sony Cm- h333 (mars bars) were good phones until you dropped them. The shattered in to minute pieces and cost a bomb sim free

Was the phone to have in those days and I rented it from Radio Rentals, full charge just about got me through the day. How times change.

This was also my first phone, but the orange branded version. I too remember reading a text message on one line, plus I could never get mine to show the name of who sent it so the number would scroll past. That was the last time I ever really knew any numbers
My first was an orange mr20 then the mr30,

Think I still have them somewhere?!
Mine was a nec from BT cellnet. I paid £30 for a half wave aerial 12inch long. No clock. Think I received first text on it and thought what was the point of that? Text sent from a blue swatch phone my mate had. Yes the watch makers. He still thinks it's a collectors item. How do put pictures up here using app as can't work that out?

You flash ****!
I had a BT Cellnet phone that was dodgy lol. Turn it off and on again and get your tenner credit back! Great days:-( that was my first mobile.
This one in red. I was 17 (1998) and vodafone accidentally forgot to charge for text messages.....me and my friends must have sent thousands before they cottoned on. For some reason they took credit off my best friend every time she topped up for what she owed, but never did me!
I also had the phillips diga for a time, and my then boyfriend, now hubby had the worlds biggest motorola brick
This was mine !

I remember those! The Ericssons (before Sony Ericsson) were amazing phones! Beautifully designed and solid as anything. Really high quality! Love it!

I think my next phone was a Sony Ericsson. Can't remember the name (or codenumber back then!), but it was a tiny little flip phone Those were the days.

The first sent text messages were not chargeable until they realised the popularity and cashed in big time. I was never charged for the only one I sent in 1996 I think

And not all networks supported texts either - early days of orange you could receive but not send?!

I still use it every now and again.
A good old Philips Diga as well for me on Cellnet prepay which seems a joke of a phone now but at the time was superb as it meant no longer having to keep 10 and 20p coins and knowing where the pay phones were to call home.

John
Orange Nokia, that's all it was called on Talk 15, yes a massive 15 minutes a month

I bought mine on the second generation plan so calls were only 35p a minute (!) and 5p a text including abroad which was useful at the time as payg phones on other networks couldn't be used abroad initially. Texting on the single line display was a little time consuming though as was reading through the slowly scrolling incoming messages. I remember being very envious of the Nokia 5110 when it came out for its glorious four line display and of course Snake.

I had a Motorola one with a pull up aerial on one 2 one network. I then had one of the coca cola ones that was bought by collecting 50 ring pulls and sending a cheque for £30. It had the coke music as its ringtone. Then upgraded to a Nokia 3210-loved Snake!!
