isn't that pretty much every Apple product?

looks as if the emphasis will be on the processor- but what use will that be to the average puntter?- i mean fart apps unlikely to make use of the core processors.

3+year old tired design, no improvements to camera or speaker- was hoping to see stereo speakers

only thing exciting is the nfl technology but then again how many places in the uk will be supporting this?

i think a lot of people will be shifting to android

If there are not obvious physical changes – can’t see myself upgrading from my iPhone 4.

The CPU / GFX in the iPhone 4 is relatively untaxed, can’t see it being like the iPhone 3G where an iOS upgrade crippled it’s performance.

It’s also doubtful that any developers would adopt / take advantage of the 40% increase in GFX performance, since the iPhone 4 does an admirable job at mobile graphics already. So releasing games which will play on both the iPhone 4 and 5 will give them access to far more sales.

    I'd go with this.

It's an upgrade for those on the 3GS rather than those on 4 I'd say. Of course that won't stop the annual upgraders going for it. It's a good move for consumers and Apple really.

Is it still crippled by needing to be used with iTunes?

How many times have you mentioned this on here? Is this early stage Alzheimers?

iPhone 5 will be aimed directly at those with 3G and 3GS devices. iPhone 4 owners will probably wait until no. 6. iPad 2 aimed at those who didnt want to early adopt with most iPad 1 owners waiting until iPad 3.

Once you get in that cycle you end up having at least 1 device thats a generation behind as getting the latest and greatest every year is pointless.

No. Just a simple fact that iTunes is a crap piece of software.

And as every thread goes when you post on this subject - I, and millions of others, have no major issue with iTunes, certainly not to go so far as to say a device is crippled by it's association...

You have already been able to do that for months.

Try using 4 devices on numerous different PCs. In the meantime, I'm not alone with my views on iTunes either!

It won't be the 5g anyway. They are not going to spend two years on R&D to change the phone in 1. It will be the 4GS. They have already said that the current chip in the 4g is under clocked due to the heat issue. I would of expected them to have fixed the dissipation issue and ramp the clock up. Effectively costing them next to nothing.

That article is dreadfully written and contains absolutely no fact, it is all "what ifs"

mate, you are far too obsessed with the itunes thing

the average puntter doesnt give a damn, all they're bothered about is whether the iphone looks good or not and angry birds works well

It's a lot of results, not a lot of people. Come on Guv, make an effort at least. Googling "Android problem" gives us 107million "unhappy people".

If you can't understand how google represents search numbers then no wonder you can't grasp a simple piece of software such as iTunes.

Itunes is a horrid but of kit and if you add a lot of ipods to one PC it goes mental, seriously when you go beyond the surface on Apple products there not all that, on the surface shiny, glossy, easy to use but scratch deeper and you get problems.

Just like OS X eh, scratch beneath the glossy surface and you get that horrible Unix... oh wait...

Rubbish, you have no idea how Apple name their products, the number … Rubbish, you have no idea how Apple name their products, the number always goes up by 1, go look back as far as the first iPod in like 2001. The only reason for the 3GS blip was because the second iPhone was called the 3G as it could connect to 3G networks, this messed up the naming system, so the third iphone was named the 3GS to keep in with the third theme, ready to get back on track by the iPhone 4, the 5th iphone will be called the 5G or abbreviated to the iPhone 5.

I am willing to bet that it will not be the 5.

Ironically, you have just described the average iPhone user to a T and it doesnt sound much like a compliment!

    Apparently this is user error.

(It's not, just just smile and step sideways before walking away. Ive had so called "experts" trying to sort out the mess of jailbroken devices, libraries on servers etc and everyone has failed to say anything other then, "yeh, iTunes is crap".)

About 25, wanting to install driver for each one, constantly buggering up, itunes freezing/slow
