    what would you do??

What would you do if you had purchased an expensive item and it didn't work properly.
You send back 5 times for repair and each time it came back there was something new wrong with it.
You make a complaint and demand you have the item replaced with a new one.
You're not offered a new one, but a guy rings and offers a refubished one that is older than yours, but it works perfectly.
They send the replacement but don't bother to pick up the old one and nothing was mentioned about the original item being sent back

    So what would you do?
Ring them to come and get it?
wait until they ask for it?
    Sell it?

Id hang onto it for 30 days.. after which you are legally entitled to get rid of it at your disposal COUGH COUGH. (maybe lol).

BUT you must make them aware of the item for it to be legal in that instance.

If it aint working how can you sell it?
I'd tell them if they aint gonna collect it by a certain date id bin it.

This happend to me several years ago. I puchased an external cd burner that cost £200. I had a load off hassle with it. Got a refurb replacement and they didnt pick the old one up. I gave it to my mate who turned it into a hard drive! The refurb could go the same way as the one you have!

what is it? same thing happened with my monitors, lg replaced both but let me keep one of the originals (the one that was working perfectly) as a "sorry"

Put it this way... i managed to get 2 for the price of 1 £600 laptops a few years back coz HP couldnt sort out their delivery drivers. TBH i think they just wrote it off anyway ;-)

some companies dont seem to bother collecting the faulty unit-remember the activision guitar hero dodge that went on for months?

Hmmm not sure I want to say. It is worth quite a bit though. Lets just say it's 4 digits!
I've had it for 30 days days today funnily enough.

It can be repaired and even the condition it's in its still worth a few quid! :whistling:

    OK it's a projector

Dude best just sitting on it for the know then after a couple months if you dont hear anything try and get it fixed then punt it.

straight from the mouth of a judge

You have a duty of care to look after it for a "reasonable" time,
when pushed he said no one could find 6 months not reasonable..

Have you fully paid for the original item?......... If so you own it (the original) and therefore it is yours to do as you wish with it.
The other - as you have stated - is on permanent loan to you (so you will have full use/benefit of it) but still belongs to the supplier. If you have paid in full for the original you can flog it!........I'll give you a tenner:whistling:

Well I had an email from the company asking if everything is ok. Customer services contacted the service center and they confirmed that the problem had been resolved. So it looks like I have 2 projectors at the moment.
