    What would you do?

I work in Birmingham, my boyfriend works in Leicester so we are currently renting a very nice, albeit very small flat in the middle so it's the same distance from both of our workplaces. It's a really nice, very quiet area in the countryside.
We currently pay £450 a month rent, £100 council tax, £100 electric (no gas) and about £10 water (plus broadband etc which will be the same wherever it is).
However, I now have the choice to work from home around 2-3 times a week and go to London once a fortnight.
His parents have just come into some money and have offered us one of their houses near Leicester for the same amount we pay in rent here (£450). It's a big house - 4 bedrooms, two reception rooms, garage, huge garden and means we can have a cat and dog! Obviously the council tax and bills will be more, but it means much more space and much smaller fuel bills for my partner (he is spending almost £300 a month)! However, it means I have further to travel when I do go into the office and the train station isn't as easy to get to for when I go to London (I would need to drive there where as it's a 3 minute walk now!) plus it will be slightly more expensive... although I'm sure they'd give it to us for less - they're not paying anything for it!
What would you do?! All ideas welcome... even from the trolls! Haha!

Wow the move definitely sounds perfect!!! Okay you have a bit of travelling but think of what your home life will be like now - and the fact you can get some pets!!!

Sounds fab. More space, reduced expense and travel time for one of you, slight increas for the other, but not so often. Sounds like an excellent compromise, I'd go for it.

I know, it'd be great to have so much space, and I'm desperate to get a pet as I miss my pets from back home so much! But... It's a long way from my friends and... will his parents be round all the time?! Haha!

    Move deffo!

    +1

Definitely move, even if the commute is harder for either of you. You will 'enjoy' a nice house when you are not working.

    I would move for sure

You need to marry the bf as soon as, 1 day the houses will be yours.

May even get it rent free whilst trying for GrandBabies.

You might as well - you look like you're well into 'nesting' (that's the polite way of putting it, isn't it?).

    Invite the trolling then report?

I'd definitely move, where you're renting it's not always guarenteed that you'll be able to rent from there forever. At least it's more secure, and you'll have room for childen in the future (if you get preggers then it saves having to find somewhere bigger- which will deffo cost more- and saves you the hassle of panic moving when pregnant!) And like you said you could have pets too.

It sounds lovely so if you don't snap it up, then I may have to lol!!

    Or filling her face! X)

instead of gettin animals use the money you would have spent on them to pay for the extra travelling you will be doing - simples

    is it financially viable??
you say it will cost more but not if you can actually afford it, if it means you will struggle financially I would say no, as that will soon make you miserable.

From what you've said previously you both earn a decent wage, so I would move and enjoy the opportunity you have to live in a bigger home which is within your reach..and give yourselves a quality of life that is there for you.. life is for living and enjoying what you have, make the most of it while it is here
