What would you do ( My old landlord)

He emailed me the other day saying there are some letters at my old flat for me and that he wants me to go and pick them up.

I changed the address on everything so it could only really be junk mail. So i emailed back saying how the letters wont be of any importance and to just throw away.

However he wont just leave it at that and is demanding i come and pick up today or to give him my new address and he will deliver them.

He is a little bit of a bully but i know it wont be anything important as i checked that i changed everything over. also i dont really want anything to do with him nor do i want him knowing my new address. I cant go and collect as its not really near me.

So as i have already told him to throw them away. Would it be the wrong thing to block his emails from now on?

Cant you just go with someone to pick them up? I know you have given permission but isnt it still illegal to throw away other peoples post? Plus there could be a couple of companies you forgot to change your address with....could include personal details???

I wouldnt give him a forwarding address though

If you don't want the letters don't go and get them.

Ask him to stick them in the mail box Return to Sender - not known at this address

tell him to write not known at this address and put them back in the post box

just re-read the post....If you cant go and collect them then what is the point of this thread....I thought it was a should I/shouldnt I one....but if you cant get there anyways then there is no option....You dont want him having your new address so you have answered your own question.....

    tell him to shhhhhh

It was more the fact he keeps emailing me and wont just leave it. I didnt know if i would have to let him have the address to pass them on ..... God i was only asking

ignore his emails-he is your FORMER landlord-he no longer has any business with you so he can go whistle. landlords must have mail for previous tenants all the time-he hardly seems reasonable demanding you collect it-what happens in a months time when another batch of junk mail in your name is sitting there?

the man is clearly a mentalist-he has no right to insist you go anywhere-block his email and have nothing more to do with him.

If you are curious, just send someone else to pick them up, but tell them to say they don't know your address if he asks.

What does this come down to?:p

P.S: Oh! its u vibeone!!, sorry I know the answer:-D

I think it's as explained earlier, tinks.
The guy is your ex-landlord and you don't really need to keep in touch with him, unless you need these so-called letters.

Maybe he has a thing for you... ;-)

If its not important sod him. He obviously wants to see you for other reasons.

give him my new address and he will deliver them

He's offering to deliver them all that way? Sounds like he's after something else.....any flirting from him? Weird. Block his address but let him know before hand with your reasons (you have no further business with him and he should return to sender).

I still get mail from former tenants at my current address and I did at my former address, I simply wrote "Return to sender, not at this address." on them and posted so the companies know not to send there anymore. When I moved from my last address I didn't have any bother from my landlord about mail.
