what would you use to back up cds?

right at first i started using i tunes to back up my cds because i was going to buy an ipod
    i have now the archos
which software would you use to carry on backing up cds to put on the archos?
    is it best as mp3s?
or should i carry on using itunes?
i have over 100 cds to burn so would like something quick
so guys what would you recommend without losing too much sound quality?

WMP seems to do a good job, I use MP3s, they usually name the songs automatically too if you're online.

Windows Media player is best choice as its on 90% of pc's and familiar to most people

i use it for sony walkman and does a darn good job of it .........

so would wmp convert to mp3?
    many thanks

I use DbPoweramp Music Converter - It's good, and relatively quick (although I guess that also depends on processor and cd read speed)
Allows you to convert MP3, Flac etc, and tag the albums.

Windows Media Player is good too, I've used that when I've not been on my own computer, seems relatively easy if you just want to convert to MP3.

I thought Sony make you convert to their own file type? My girlfriend has one of their MP3(lol) players and has to use Sonic Stage (?) which is by far the worst thing I've ever had to use in my life.
