i have got the box and manual obvously has a bit of wear and tear to it

Doubt it will be worth a lot as its an old machine yes and its rare (not one on eBay)but it wasn't the most popular the only thing it can be compared to is the original Atari which are not that expensive. The ones that fetch money are ones like the spectrum 48k with the rubber keys with a kempston interface for joystick anyway i think its cool and i maybe wrong but you can only guess what its worth.

They are the ones that people pay for I'm still only talking £50 but in that world its a lot and its the peripherals like printer that are the things that fetch money and its them and the C64 that most people remember.

This console you have gave me the flash back to being a kid and playing with these and the Atari playing games like pong and tanks so i went and had a look around the web to see what it might be worth and you cant find much info let alone price the 3000 model is very rare so this maybe as rare itself. Your best bet would be to find a site that specializes in stuff like this and it maybe worth a bit to someone that wants one its the grandfather to my 360 and for that it has to be cool.

Its the old ones that have the wood on them that fetch a bit the original Atari not the plastic replacement i don't remember the model numbers but its the ones that have like sticks to select stuff at the top and really for what they are they are not worth a great deal considering how much they where when they came out back then they where the equivalent of £200+.

I think people on here are misunderstanding what I'm saying the spectrum 48k in good nick with box and a few games sell for around £50 and then the extras depending on what fetch a decent sum i never said that the where worth £100s.These consoles are proper retro games and don't have the sort of playable games like the spectrum and the C64 like paperboy but they appeal to a different crowd and the price of the ZX doesn't make it rare its just a good pc that has a cult following.

Back then £100 was a lot of money the only reason i remember playing them was my dad was very young 17 when i was born I'm now 33 and he loved his tech so he had all the consoles(catalogue) and i use to play them and they where great fun i use to spend hours playing them games yet today i get board very quickly even with modern consoles with new games as they don't seem to grab your attention like the old games.

I think its a case of easy come easy go today but back then my parents struggled so you had to make the best of what you had our kids today have it way easier than i ever did.

The sunnyvale is not jsut a woody, a sunnyvale is only a sunnyvale if it was made in the year it was first released, after the first year they moved prodcution to hong kong they looked the same but not a relase model, a sunnyvale is worth about 3-4 times the price if both boxed in the same condition.

I am guessing about the 48k mine is mint in box and was worth about £100 last time i looked about 3-4 years ago

Most are boxed in VVG condtion, Think that is it apart from the PCs which i have 2 on the go now and 2 more that are in the loft which can play older games better then the newer PC's due to the clock cycles. And of course all the bits and extras for them and games.

We should get a retro gaming page going lol

very much so & today as soon as they have the newest game they want to find out the cheats

The ole Atari played Astroids to death on it, I've got me a zx81 in the loft along with my old rubber keyed speccy 48k, ive got a key board for it, were you took the guts out of the speccy & put them into the keyboard, thermal printer, joystick & various other add ons & hundereds of games, i spent hours on it, Jet Set Willy, Attic Attack, Chuckie Egg, to name but a few, oh happy days  also have a 128k round me mums, she was going to give it to the charity shop :?

OP good thread btw

As for the value of the commodore really not sure, all i know was a couple of years back i saw one sold local to me for £80. I would imagine prices have gone up but i dont know if that was boxed or not.
