We decided that it might be a nice idea to find out what is on each of the major streaming providers’ watch lists each month, to go through what’s new to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Apple TV+, and Paramount Plus. They love a plus As you may be able to guess, there is a lot to go through so we won’t provide much detail as it would become a massive list. Commendable effort. There is a nice app called JustWatch. The home page shows all new releases. You can also connect the app to your TV as long as both are on the same wifi network.

Another option is Reelgood. Yet another option is TV Time which also tracks movies. (edited)

    Had I known about these...

There is so much information out there on the internet (many, many sites trawled for this), but I will download the app now.

Helpful! I wonder if someone clever could run a script that matches each title to an IMDB or rotten tomato score so that we can then filter by 7/10+ for example

Why is this post pinned, and how do I unpin it? I really dislike posts about content in full price subscripion services, since I come here for deals, and content on paid for services is not a deal.

Click on the pin icon, and then it will disappear, along with your frustration.

I found Prey (a Predator film) on Disney+ really good, also Thirteen Lives was great too (Amazon Prime) and recommend both of them.

The Bear is brilliant. Definitely worth watching when it comes to Disney+ this week.

I absolutely did not know about this, just checked Imdb and yup, its going on my watchlist!!!!!!

This thread might have just paid for itself if it turns out to be as good as the reviews

The Old Man is pretty good. Weekly episodes releasing in the UK but i've watched the whole lot and S2 has already been green lit.

Then theres a a new series from the creators of 'Dark' which is releasing soon which I can't wait for. Dark is up there as one of my all time favs. Mind bending, and i felt i needed a pen and paper to keep a track of everything (edited)

It’s free, you shouldn’t need to pay unless you use Real Debris with it.

Does any of these streaming services have CSI (all versions) or Law and Order SVU? I'd subscribe in a heartbeat
    EN1GMA's avatar
Csi and shows similar are all over the show because used to be all on Netflix but with separate services who own the shows now having streaming service, they're taking shows back.

Sometimes seasons are split into various services.

I want to watch 'When the wind blows' again, a brilliant animated film, but I can't find it anywhere. I have netflix and prime but doesn't look like anyone has it in their back catalogue

It's on Britbox, if you get the 7 days free trial.

Also it's on TUBI, but to use TUBI you'll need to enable your VPN to a US server, reboot and go to tubitv.com/home sign up using a gmail account or similar, then TUBI is available. (edited)

I think people need to seriously think. About boycotting new streaming services by major studios , they are just fragmenting the market and pushing the overall cost up , with the advent of Netflix and Amazon prime I pretty much stopped using alternative sources (torrents / iptv etc) , however given overall price increases and shows been pulled off existing and onto new streaming services this is likely to cause a resurgence in alternative streaming sources.
    EN1GMA's avatar
Nah, fragmented services = more piracy. When it was just Netflix, people didn't bother with piracy as you'd find most content on Netflix. Fragmented services has meant a steady rise in piracy.
  18. nobrot's avatar
Didnt realise people pay for this stuff, everyone i know just uses the free apps on the firestick.

Thank you for doing this, and it merely reiterates that Netflix has gone to the wall and I think it's time to join the exodus.

I see Disney+ has overtaken Netflix viewer wise. Cant understand why as it has so little content. Did enjoy Under the Banner of Heaven tho. Waiting for last season of Handmaids Tale (awesome) and any further seasons of Big Little Lies if it hasnt been shelved. Not a lot of addictive watching out there at the min. Watched the Grey Man and Prey. I do wish the Americans would stop producing such claptrap and concentrate on stuff they do well.
    HapyDapyDoo's avatar
I have all three and tbh find Disney and Netflix are rarely used in comparison to Prime Video, way way more content, both old and new, that's to my liking on there. Disney is basically Marvel and Star Wars stuff and you're done so will be cancelling after school hols are over. Going to bin Netflix off too as simply not worth the odd movie I may watch every month tbh but that's just my opinion. Each to their own
  25. EN1GMA's avatar
Peripheral on prime video. Really enjoying that. Recently watched Counterpart with JK Simmons. It was phenomenal. 2 seasons of pure brilliance

We are drowning in a sea of (mostly) excellent TV shows and will never have enough time to watch a tiny percentage of the good ones. I have watched brilliant US and European shows, that no-one I know has even heard of. Makes me go all misty eyed for the '70's when EVERYONE you knew saw last night's episode of (the excellent) 'The Sweeny' or (God help us!) 'Dallas' and you could have a proper chat about a show you saw. No chance these days - you can't even say ' see the match last night' with any certainty! That's progress I suppose, still, I wasn't paying a sizeable chunk of my monthly pay packet to watch TV then either! (edited)
    EN1GMA's avatar
yup, definately a golden age of tv. So many shows and if it wasnt for streaming, i probably would miss most of them. Then theres the after show pods which i have way too many than i should.

I like both the binge model and weekly model. For MCU and SW, weekly are perfect and in between i listen to the after shows. Personally, ive never had so many options yet i feel i'm watching less and less these days. I tell the kids how it was for me growing up with a few channels. they don't know how good they've got it.

Only Murders In The Building (Disney+) is classic Steve Martin but only two series so far. I also enjoyed Modern Family until it went rubbish.

I can't be bothered to finish Picard S2. 2 episodes to go but I just can't do it. Absolute shambles of a season. S1 was enjoyable.

Only murders in the building, old man and BCS are my ongoing watches. Watched Rise of Gru the other day with the kids, enjoyed that.

Definitely a golden age of tv. Too many great shows. LOTR prequel and HoD starting soon but thankfully they'll be weekly drops. Not to mention She-Hulk and Andor.

Too much to watch, not enough time! That's not even taking into consideration the ⚽ and other sport.

You're missing the new episodes of Yellowstone on P+ (season 4). The second half is airing one ep every Wednesday. Brilliant series

Watched "The Greatest Beer Run Ever" on Apple TV, sounds terrible but it is actually pretty good, although the soundtrack is the best thing about it.

Weird way to find out that season 3 of Mythic Quest is out this week! But thanks for letting me know that all seasons of Wild Thornberys is on paramount plus!!

    Thank you.
My Netflix is doing that annoying thing in which it is only showing Netflix shows as it believes I have a VPN running (I don't). Netflix customer service is beyond awful and told me no fix for it and it 'should' revert back to normal 'soon'.

I found it not bad, as a remake. But number 1 was better
