lol, that's what I thought. Good deal for the Americans though!!

The US market is completely different to the UK mobile market.

For one... the cost of owning a monthly plan the UK compared to the US can be cheaper.

U.S have always had poor offers on mobiles compared to us, even the Valentines offer is rubbish...

2 year contract and get a phone free? I think pretty much any network you can get any phone free on a £30-£35 p/m contract.. If not less through a third party.

The U.K has one of the most competitive mobile phone markets in the world, which is why we get some of the best prices. This is mainly due to the amount of people who purchase mobiles in the U.K and the relatively low cost of maintaining a network due to the smaller size geographically compared to places like the U.S.

Not to mention that the most other countries charge to receive calls, rather than make them.

U.K is often used as a test market before launching phones into other larger countries, this is changing somewhat now though.

I thought it was a good offer, but then I looked at it and like Spritey says on a 2 year contract it's not that hard to get a free phone here.

Although the Americans usually do get a much better deal with most products

Yeah, most other stuff we get screwed on.. Thankfully, with mobiles, we seem to get some of the best prices around.

It's only because we are such a small country, with a high percent of the population being mobile users. Where networks in the U.S need to invest so much more for coverage, making deals with other networks so they can cover the entire country. Isn't an issue here.

This means that the market becomes massively competitive, keeping the prices low.

I guess they've got to pay for their 4G network somehow, plus, with the size of the US, it's like us calling all over europe.

As for what will T Mobile offer us, in my experience the answer is a phone that doesn't work properly and call centres full of "special" people.
