My mate has asked me to find out what his laptop is worth

Sony sony vgn fw21l

It was purchased in January this year, the reason for selling is that the bit that the power supply plugs into is loose and probably going to break off. He doesn't know what to ask for it as like me is not very computer minded.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

he paid £230 a month ago and its broken again already!

he either is doing something dratcially wrong with it or should insist on a repair.

It's times like this that I'm thankful to own this Acer. Cost me a hundred quid less than the guy there's repair costs, came second hand with a load of photos of its previous owner naked (tyvm, Ontrack EasyRecover), and it just shrugged it off when I walked through a door way with its AC adaptor still attached, hooking the cable around the door handle and yanking the laptop out of my hand and sending it all crashing to the floor. It didn't even ask to run Chkdsk afterwards. Bless it.

LOL

I have the Vaio VGN FW11E and the same thing has happened with mine - I've been managing with it for the last 2 months, does it really cost that much to be repaired?!

I'll give him £50 for it posted

What did you mate do in the end?

He got an independent chap to open it and was told he can fix it but it would only be temporary - he then flogged it for £180. Ordered a Dell yesterday for about £400 i think he was saying.
