WHEELCHAIR IMPORTING FROM USA ANYONE KNOW ANY SITES WITH INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY. PLS PLS.

    Hi all,

I am after a usa design of known as breezy ultra 4, as it suits me better than the UK versions of this or the european models breezy have here. Of course I can find them on USA sites but none with international delivery. I have heard of several people who have imported wheelchairs for the same reasons, and usually value, but i dont know any in person. I hope someone can help me out as mine is on its last legs, and have to pay for it myself, as NI doesnt have a wheelchair voucher scheme, dont start me on that rant.

I hope someone can give me some leads sooner rather than later. thanks peops.

who is supplying the uk version, and can you ask them to supply an american version, just out of interest whats the difference?

Slightly odd question, but know anyone in Australia (rather than USA) who can forward it onto you? If so here: [mobsol.com.au/p/2…tml
Most of the American companies say no international shipping, I wonder if it's a tax thing, if they are tax free or something which is why they cannot export?

    Edit: these guys export: spinlife.com/Sun…650

If you are importing equipment for disabled persons you need to check out whether you can claim back things like VAT.

    Here's a link for you. hmrc.gov.uk/vat…htm

thanks may actually be getting somewhere, thank heavens. dont mind paying tax, still cheaper than tax exempt here. considering these shipped from far east someone making an absolute fortune. pity dont speak something like chinese, would likely source one then.

rep will be left asap. cheers people. i appreciate all your help. thanks.

The US version probably has a higher weight threshold, too!

You could check out parcel2go.com. I think they have a US base where the US supplier delivers "locally" and then P2go will arrange forwarding to the UK. They started the service because some US suppliers simply will not ship overseas. Good luck.

There is an auction in west yorkshire on 3/08/09 with chairs etc from a disability shop which has closed,if this is any good to you i can PM you details,

i do get the vat off here, dont know about the importation, trying to find importer..lol. makes me laugh traders take the vat off at the front door and add it on to retail at back door. obvious when compare prices with elsewhere. but disabled people have always been aware of the con. or buyers premium. what a racket.
