Where are you? August 2013
Ever dreamt of swimming under the stars in your own private infinity pool at the edge of the twinkling Indian Ocean? At this award-winning five-star property in the beautiful Seychelles such a fantasy can come true. Enter this month's Where Are You? competition, courtesy of Carrier and MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa, and you could win a five-night holiday at MAIA, where 30 villas are set amid acres of gardens. The prize, worth about £9,000, includes five nights' accommodation for two people, half board, flights from London to Mahé, transfers, two massages per couple, a garden tour and one special bath treatment

In addition...
One Grand Prize winner of the current Where Are You? competition will be chosen, by 1 October 2013, in a random draw of qualified entries that have correctly identified locations in the competitions published in issues dated between October 2012 and September 2013.

Clue:
This lively, ocean-side promenade has been a place to work or play for kite flyers, hawkers, monkey handlers, picnicking families and strolling lovers since it was built in 1859. The original spit of land was much larger than it is today, and was also used for horse races and as a golf course. Now colourfully lined with neon-lit food stalls by night, the esplanade and adjacent green is still the biggest open space in this major Asian city. At one end of the half-kilometre promenade is a Victorian hotel - the oldest east of Suez, or so it is claimed. The charming, old-world property, whose guests have included Richard Nixon, Yuri Gagarin, Emperor Hirohito and Roger Moore, has a lovely terrace overlooking the water - one of the best spots in town for sunset cocktails before dinner. Alternatively, you could simply dine inches from the crashing waves at popular stalls such as Nana's. Traditional dishes freshly cooked in front of you include kottu (a mixture of chopped roti, spices and vegetables), fried rice, fish curry and stacks of flaky paratha bread. Where are you?

The Galle Face is a promenade which stretches for a half kilometre along the coast in the heart of the financial and business district of Colombo, Sri Lanka. The promenade was initially laid out in 1859 by the Governor of what was then British Ceylon, Sir Henry Ward, and was also used for horse racing and as a golf course, although the original Galle Face Green extended over a much larger area than is seen today.

There are two large hotels that border the strip; the Ceylon Inter-Continental Hotel and at the other by the quaint Galle Face Hotel, one of Sri Lanka's oldest and most popular hotels, with a variety of old world charm including old furniture, hand carved doors, balconies and high ceilings.

On the Green, and a buffet restaurant known as the Verandah.[24] The open Verandah is the venue for the Daily High Tea on the terrace.

The famous of the fast food joints is the Nana’s. There were three shops with the same name; however, the inauguration years were 1979, 1987 and 1988. The Nana’s food stall of 1979 boasts of being the pioneers. (note: it is the 1987 establishment in the picture)
