I got a nice pair of trousers in Sainsbury a few weeks ago. They had suits there that looked ok. Try them on before you buy as i found the sizes a bit missleading. They have a 25% sale on at the moment.

Asda, Mexx, Next/M&S Outlet etc, but please take someone with you who will be very honest as some cheap suits are ok, and others fit like a dogs dinner and you will look awful in some.

Try New Look or somewhere similar.

One thing I would say, a cheap suit usually looks just that - cheap. It's worthwhile getting a more expensive one that will last a lot longer, and looks a lot better...

My auntie just got given a month to live so i need it for a funeral aswell

I'll second Tesco, they do have some really smart looking suits all under £100.....
and, as we're on a deals site, think of the Clubcard Points too

edit: nobody actually "firsted" Tesco, so it's all my suggestion lol.
edit2: i dont know if "firsted" is the best way to say it, but i like it

Generally a cheap suit is an ill fitting suit. You could pay a grand for a suit but if it doesn't fit properly then it's going to look worse than a George suit that fits you perfectly.

You don't have to wear a suit jacket by the way. If it's nice enough you can get away with just shirt, tie and trousers.

    Matalan / Asda / Tesco

whether or not they look good depends on the cut of the suit and if you have the body to fill one or you're like a stick ??

i got one from tesco for £60 & its managed to stay intact for 3 jobs/contracts interviews, a christening, a wedding & a funeral. £60 well spent.

M&S have a few suits at £49.50 online. Think there was a 10% discount for mens but not sure if thats expired now. You'd obviously need to pay for next day delivery or check if they have them in store..

I've always thought Burton's were good; not too cheap to be bad but too expensive to be not worth it.

Like what has been said before it's ALL about fit.

Depends how cheap you want to go - cheapest would be Tesco, Asda etc as per other posts. I have to be honest, I bought a suit 18mths ago which was reduced to £13.50 in Tesco and I wear the trousers regularly to work. They've taken endless machine washes and haven't suffered from bobbling or wearing thin.

Again, as advice above, take someone with you though because some of the jackets can look rubbish on you.

I normally pay a couple of hundred quid for a suit, as I tend to find that's were they start to look decent and last a while. However, when the Mrs was looking round the clothes section of Asda, I pulled one of their jackets on for a giggle and found that the fit was actually pretty good. The material was a bit cheap feeling and scratchy, but in black no-one would be able to tell the difference unless they're right up in your grill! If it fits good and you wear it well, people won't think twice about whether it's el cheapo.

The whole suit was about £35 if I remember rightly

I can second the ones from Marks, really good quality and a steal at £49.50. Bought one last week for a funeral and the suit was excellent

primarks pretty good, my ex bought 1 from there few years ago and is still using it now think was bout £30 for the jacket and trousers, and they do shirt and tie packs for a fiver.

go for the charcoal colour (a touch lighter than black) as it certainly doesn't look cheap. I think the black one looks cheapish
