    Where can I get a sled tomorrow ?

    Hey peeps, any idea where I could get a sled tomorrow ? Tried Argos, Halfords, ToysRUs etc but have run out of ideas.

    In the Bristol/Bath area

    Get an offcut of lino.

    Climb snowy hill.

    Sit on it.

    Slide down with big grin on face. You will be going just as fast as the "proper" sledges believe me.

    I want it as a gift for a mates kids that have never been sledging so really want a nice one and not a home made one like from my yoof!! :oops:

    We went sledging today and it was fab.
    There were kids on all sorts! Trays, bin bags, spades!!

    I have 2 very similar designed that i got when skiing in france, you pull the handle up betwwn your legs and off you go.. great fun and easy to carry

    Plus they can be used as a shovel if they are the harder plastic kind

    my 8yr old said she wished she had a sledge to her grandad...well you can try your mums he said...been in the garage 25years and my dad made it too...still in good nick, even the string!!

    Have you tried Alpine Ski & Golf Co in Bath or Ellis Brigham in Bristol? They may have bought some in lately!?

    Last week I had a group of neighbourhood kids knocking at the door asking for old cardboard boxes etc to go sledging on, they used for sale signs, cardboard boxes someone even used an old pram! :w00t:

    choc its a bit asbo but when we were younger and it was a snow day we … choc its a bit asbo but when we were younger and it was a snow day we used to rip off "for sale" signs and use them to go down hills with, they work great



    I'm already on a caution for nicking hanging baskets :whistling:

    Those bum boards are fab, we got a few of the cheaper thinner ones from Newitts the other week, about £3 each but out of stock now sorry.

    Anyway my 4 year old mastered it first time and even I had a go, we had a ball!
