Where can I get sand for a reasonable price?

Hi

Just got a playtive junior sandpit for my 2 year old from Lidl - hope is good as we are newbies at this lol - and we are now looking at getting sand for it. The sandpit measures 118x118x118 so a bit bigger than the sand trays we've seen. If anyone can tell us where to get sand at a good price we will b grateful.

Thanks

Thanks will have a look. it will be covered as the canopy can also be used as a cover when not in use to avoid any pets of using it as a toilet and to keep rubbish out.

will spend more money on petrol and risk a fine than buying it. thanks anyway for your suggestion
builders merchants are always by far the best value, ask which is the cleanest for a sand pit. usually 25kg bags

no no no builders sand is loaded with chemicals and cancer causing rubbish. DONT use builders sand in a play pit no matter what they say! play sand is cheap enough at less than £3 a bag in most places and its for a child after all!

He didn't say builders sand, he said builders merchants. Jewsons and Travis Perkins stock play sand usually but obviously my answer got down voted.
For that size pit your probably only need four or five so for £12-15 if collected your not going to get it for much less

Try wickes you need sharp sand which is identical to the bags of play … Try wickes you need sharp sand which is identical to the bags of play sand you can buy, you can get a 25kg bag for £1.90 or 10 for £1.30.

Sharp sand is exactly that - Sharp. It's NOT the same as play sand

You want silver sand for a kids sandpit. its very fine and not gritty like building or river sand.

sadly it's more money that both of the above. and normally only available in 25kg bags.
