hi all looking for some advice, my sons netbook bought from tesco at christmas broke so i took it back (to a right stroppy assistant!)and they said they would do an exchange as i didnt have my receipt anyway we paid 175.00 and i told her this (we bought 2 and the blue one was 199.00) she said it was now scanning at 99.00! i said no way! i couldnt believe it, so she got one to swap it with and said it was scanning at 215.00 and i couldnt understand this, so end of it being i took home the swapped one (well after i finished my nightshift in that store) when i got up later and checked the netbook the one i took in was linux and the one they checked and gave me is xp! also i checked the prices of mine and they are still that price in the extra store as we have none! so do i take it back or what do i do?

i dont fully understand.... are you happy with the one you have now?

it sounds like you're over 116 quid better off to me?

yes i just now know why there was such a price difference as i took back a linux and brought home a xp! do i keep it or return it and tell her they made a mistake!

keep it ,you are better off,unless you are one of these over honest people

wulshaz by the sound of it they didn't have your model in stock any more so they gave you an equivalent product of equal or greater value, which is part of their refund policy. btw XP is better, sounds like you got more RAM too

it sounds like when you tried to return the previous one there was a huge mix up anyway and if I were you I'd be feeling relieved I came out the store with a better alternative than the one I went in with...

If you wanna try to take it back and explain good luck to you but I'm not entirely sure they'd understand anyway x x

no i paid cash and i did get my 10% discount and when they did the exchange they did take my privilagecard but it was a straight swap.

I can't remember but does your pay statement have a break down of discount received/remaining or is it just the total :oops: (been 7+ yrs since I had a tesco statement).

Do me a favour next time too, can you pay on card it offers so much more protection against theft :thumbsup:

yes it tells you how much discount you have used, yeh i will use a card next time as i was thinking at least i would have proof from the statement also as well as you say protection :thumbsup: thanks for advice
