Where does space end?
Well, it doesnt, does it? If it was possible to fly a spaceship in a straight line (but avoiding planets etc) what would happen. If it could fly without time limit and at speeds that are faster than science can express, where would that take the spaceship? Dont give an answer saying space is a circle, because then I will ask....what is outside of the circle. If you say heaven, then where does heaven end. And if you say it has no ending, then just think about that. Just think. The enormity of it all is simply mindblowing

Somebody else wrote this but thought it was a good question, any one any ideas?

Space does not end, as it is inherently curved. If you flew in a straight line, you'd end up back where you started

Or so Isaac Asminov says...

Space is infinite.
It is dark.
Space is neutral.
It is cold.

Stars occupy minute areas of space. They are clustered a few billion here. A few billion there. As if seeking consolation in numbers.
Space does not care.

Space does not threaten.
Space does not comfort.
It does not sleep; it does not wake; it does not dream; it does not hope; it does not fear; it does not love; it does not hate; it does not encourage any of these qualities.
Space cannot be measured. It cannot be angered, it cannot be placated. It cannot be summed up. Space is there.
Space is not large and it is not small. It does not live and it does not die. It does not offer truth and neither does it lie.
Space is a remorseless, senseless, impersonal fact.
Space is the absence of time and of matter

Where does space end?

Space ends when you see the 'e'

^^ Lol

space is nothing. i have a theory that everything is a figment of my imagination. hmmmmmm. off topic? lol.

Space ends when we run out of pink :whistling:

check out "olbers paradox" on wikipedia, its an interesting little problem which ties in the ideas of space cannot infinte in size and timeless at the same time....mindboggling

Sloth/Mod

My space runs out at the Alt Gr key or the Alt key depending on which way inclined you are.

 space is infinite, however we say that space has edges, these edges are the furthest bit of matter in a certain direction. beyond that is matterless space - a true vacum. so when a comet or something goes past the 'edge' of space, it creates a new edge.
(i dont know how matterless waves and particles e.g. EM radiation and photons/phonons fit into this though)

But...mathmatically speaking wouldn't it be an infinitely impossibility for there to be a finite amount of matter in a universe that goes on forever. There would eventually (in theory) have to be something else.

Those edges would just be our universes edges, right?

Space haven't released an album in ages have they?

Where does space start?

My space has no s or an e, its just black and very long.

Ask someone who needs more "space".
Example in an argument someone may say leave me alone I need more space. They must know when space ends as they are needing more of it

Space probably ends with 404 error: file not found
The big man upstairs probably ran into the same problem as any mere mortal.

And is full of emo 16 year olds!

Hehe Funny love it ;-)

Space with no s or e = pac

Ah.. but pac + ket = packet.. and that is a bag / container.. so if space is like a giant bag of crisps.. it ends when they are eaten. Get it?

kind of reminds me of something! :giggle:

Liquorice laces? :?
The M25.. although I suppose thats more grey than black?

For me its the cubored under the STAIRS :giggle:

therefore ends on 'E'

Space is about 10cm long. On my keyboard anyway. It starts from left to right just Alt and ends just before Alt Gr

Ha only 10cm, mines 15! (Keyboard envy)

now now...size isnt important!

As already mentioned - space is infinite, it's what's in the space that is finite.

The universe as we know it (the bit with the stars and galaxies in it) is variously estimated to be anything from 13.7 to 180 billion light years across ... ish...

Space is only infinite to us because we would never get to the edge in human existence because it's so far. But it does end. Everything ends somewhere, just some things are so large we can not imagine it ending.

We have to think it ends because our brains require it, we cant have any concept of something that goes on forever, its beyond our imagination.

Dam your stupid space mine starts from right to left

Space is expanding so It must expand into something which means there must be an end. And an end to what ever its exspanding into and so on and so forth.
