Which Acer Laptop?

Can anyone advise what one of these two Acer Laptops are the best, both are from Play.com:-

Acer Aspire 7520 / Turion 64 TK55 1.8GHz / 1GB / 80GB / 17" WXGA+ / DVD-SM / Vista Home Premium / Laptop / Notebook

Acer Aspire 5720 Z / Intel Pentium Dual Core T2310 1.42GHz / 2GB / 80GB/ 15.4" / DVD-SM / Vista Home Premium / Laptop / Notebook

I am not too bothered about the screen size as one is 15.4 and the other 17 and it is for my son.

Thanks

hi pauline, i was going to reply to this thread earlier, but my technical knowledge isnt up to par with others on here im sure. So in the absence of a better opinion, i would say this:

It depends on what your son is likely to use the computer for most of all. If it will be mainly games, I would recommend the first one you posted, as it has a seperate graphics card and an AMD processor.

If he will be using it for general internet browsing, messengers, etc I would recommend the latter of the original ones you posted.

Again, im more than happy to have my opinion discarded by someone more knowledgable on the matter.

first advice is that if you want Vista Home Premium to run smoothly then go for 2 gb of ram...second is that if your son wants to play games then he'll not get much, if any, joy from integrated graphics.

And last...my experience of an Acer laptop is so bad that I would never touch that brand again...all was fine until it was returned to Acer under warranty for repair and their total incompetence that resulted in making the laptop even worse, and they even removed quality components and replaced them with cheaper inferior models, was beyond believe....so my advice is to avoid Acer.

If you state your maximum budget and what will be the main use of the laptop then I'm sure suitable recommendations will be forwarded.

Acer laptops are generally pretty good, you get quite a lot of lappie for your money (never had any probs with any of mine in the past)... personally im not a dell fan, had a couple in the past and was not impressed in the slightest.

I would highly recommend Lenovo (my current laptop is a Lenovo), excellent build quality and prob the best keyboard of any laptop ive used before.
