    over clockers in stoke
the banned aria pc in east manchester
    tekheads in lincoln
    scan in ... boltonish?!

Used all of them, no problems with any - though I've collected in person almost every time.

i've used microdirect a few times they weren't too bad, scan and ebuyer also, those would be my top 3 for buying from.

Ebuyer and Scan my personal faves.

Aria I've had bad experience with.

Novatech I've known to have outstanding service and really bad service.

I've used ebuyer, scan and watercoolinguk all were very good

Ebuyer, normally use them even if the price is slightly higher, that's … Ebuyer, normally use them even if the price is slightly higher, that's just due to using them for 6 years with not a single problem at all, found them great. Used scan once and it went fine. Not used Aria + Novatech but tbh as long as Over clockers, isn't on the list I'm not bothered, just avoid them at all costs. Lie to customers, insult customers etc.

Never had a problem with over clockers. By insult, do you mean they laughed in your silly spotty face when you claimed you were some sort of IT expert? Because to be fair... that happens everywhere, even here

Good tip on ebuyer though - great company.

I'll reply for the sake of it, but no, obviously there's a lot of info … I'll reply for the sake of it, but no, obviously there's a lot of info about the owner been in the BNP (and him posting about it on their forums), but at one point one of the private forums got made public and he'd been calling customers idiots. They also sold hard drives as clean pulled (taken from a built machine like a dell that was never delivered so the unused hard drive was removed and sold as a clean pull), people checked and some had been used for like 150 hours and OC-UK suddenly changed the description and said we never said they were unused etc. Tried to wriggle out of it.

I'll reply for the sake of it too (and since you're not making any stupid claims, I'd not even insult you). I'll reply honestly...

The BNP are a bit stupid. Some of them aren't very nice, but **** happens.

I don't give a damn about the owners political views or whether hes a racist. If hes the cheapest, I'll buy it*. If ebuyer is cheaper, I'll go there. Actually, like you, I'd probably buy from ebuyer even if they were a little more expensive, but you see my point. I simply don't care if he's a racist or not.

As for the rest... meh. I'm more concerned about the possibility credit cards are stored (see the register comments).

I generally only buy top-end branded components. Built PCs generally don't come with such components, and everything I've had have been blister-packed or sealed.

All that said, I accept a lot of people have had trouble with them. But I haven't. Ever. If/When I do have a problem, you can be sure I'll be moaning about them and advising people not to buy. But until then... they've not put a foot wrong with me.

I've used Ebuyer a lot mostly without issues. Their returns system is annoying (or atleast was when I had to use it) but they still did the right thing.

Ebuyer are still top of my list when I start looking and comparing prices.

Completely agreed, I was an avid user of their site and forums, but when I asked why so many openly racist comments were allowed I was then promptly banned

This was shortly before their private forums calling customers idiots (to put it politely) were accidentally exposed to their public forum

    always used ebuyer and dabs

To be fair, in any customer related environment I've worked in, I've referred to them as idiots at all times. Customers/users generally are...

Don't touch Aria with a bargepole, you know they are bad when they have to resort to rewarding forum members for bumping up their review scores on external sites.

    dabs

    ..... PCWorld, Comet and Currys.

    ebuyer

Places I have ordered from that have not been mentioned: CCL Online, Specialtech, SVP, LinITX and other ones that are well known Maplin, Play, Amazon, Dixons, Dell. I have also +1'd the posts where I have shopped and what I consider good resellers.

I agree with some of the remarks about OCUK, I have had a bad experience with them so I generally avoid them. Although I know some people have shopped their for years without incident.
