Hi everyone!

Our daughter is 4 in June and she wants a bike. She's quite tall for her age, and we figured a 16" one - we'd seen the 16" Apollo Sparkle at Halfords but it does say the handlebars aren't very adjustable and i'm worried it won't last her for very long.

We're after something which is functional rather than fancy, WITHOUT TASSLES! Argh! What's with the tassle thing??? And as pink free as possible as she's quite a tomboy. Maybe a unisex one rather than a boy's one, but not with Disney or similar on it. Or Bratz. EVERYTHING seems to be pink, flouncy with characters on it at the mo :o(

We're on a budget but want to make sure we get her something that lasts. I would ideally like ot get her a Raleigh Denim like I had, but seeing as they stopped making them quite a few years ago...I guess we can't, lol.

All advice welcomed! If anyone knows of any good deals or where to start I'd be grateful. Have tried Halfords but the Sparkle is the only one I can find in there. The rest are pink and tassly.

Many thanks!
Best wishes
Luce xx

I've got 3 that my kids have grown out off that you could choose from. Where do you live? I'm sure we could come to some sort of agreement.

We're in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The Toyrus one looks cool! It is quite dear but we'll have a look this afternoon. It's probably better if she tries it out. Shame that the secret'll be out though! Unless I say she's not having one, just to see what she'd look like on a bike, lol.

Any more deals welcomed!

Just take her and mess around with all different toys, including the bikes.

go to an independant bike shop, they will advise, you get what you pay for with bikes like anything else. trust the advice from a raleigh dealer, ive done that twice now and saved a small fortune
