There's only one way to find out.................................

FIGHT!

i used to work at worcester bosch and friend in the technical side allways said they are **** and allways breaking. I would go for baxi myself

Worcester

Vailant are crap

worcester boiler i'll say, never had any problems.

We got Vailant Ecotec Plus 831, more than 4 years now, brilliant

we've got the Vaillant Ecotech Plus 831, 3 years old, no problems with it, ours has a wireless thermostat, not familiar with any other systems as this was a complete new install, replacing a warm-air system.

Had a baxi for 17 years, been serviced (just cleaned and such) yearly, never had a breakdown of any sort

I have a Worcester 30CDi (Only 5 months old though!)

Cant give you a comparison, but my plumber only ever fits Worcester or Valiant - and he reckons Worcester are better.

thats because installers who do a course at bosch become worcester accredited and get them cheaper i believe so glad i dont work there anymore

Thanks all, rep will be left.
My experience of Worcester has been mixed. The boiler at home which I'm replacing is a worcester heatslave 9.24 and it's been going for over 25 years. We've had a few minor problems with it over the years costing £50 - £150 to fix but nothing major. However, my parents have had 2 different worcester boilers in the last 10 years and these have given more problems in a shorter space of time.
Seems like worcester don't make boilers like they used to.

You hit the nail on the head m8.

Worcester used to be Worcester and were very good, however since they became Worcester-Bosch there have been many issues.

Go for the Vaillant, boilers is what they have been doing since day dot.

had a vailant ecotec 28 pro fitted last week for £1550 with powerflush. was a straight swap for the worst type of boiler....ariston. Most of the boiler guys i asked said vailant were the best. think this was a fairish price.

Kerry Katona - she's a right boiler apparently

agreed it is since bosch took over made them too complicated for there own good, the old worcester were solid hence they made a lot of money hence the owner bought the rugby club

Not quite correct. There are accredited installers - and you get a 5 year warrenty if you use one. However the consumer pays a huge premium.

(When mine was fitted, an accredited installer wanted £2900 for the same job I was charged £1650 - with powerflush and inline softener. I think I can safely say if he is geven a discount, he certainly doesn't pass it on to his customers!!!)

yep thats why i used the firm that i did, they gave me a five year parts and labour warranty, so £1550 was fair enough.

I;m having a Worcester Boiler Fitted on Monday - my quote was £2200 and i also got the scrapage allowance which takes it down to £1800 - a lot cheaper when considering BG quoted me £4200!!!

Also because I got the scrappage scheme you also get an extra year warranty so i'll have six in total.

I had two quote from their installers the other one quoted 3k for the job.

I would have done the same!

I missed out on the scrappage scheme unfortunately.

That said, Mine wasnt a straight boiler replacement. My original was the old type, so all the pipework, inc cylinder in the loft, had to be removed and all pipework changed to suit. The boiler also had to be relocated in a different room.

My Polish Tenant Will Do It For £150. ....;>
Joking

yea mine is relaplacing a 25 yeard old back boiler so its a bit more than just a straight boile replacement - needs new pipes etc

They used to get a discount andwarranty when i worked there, maybe its changed but either way its worth paying for the extra warranty as they will break in time. I believe the heat exchangers alone were around 300 quid just for the part! Plus they have had problems with there buderus range of boilers granted a different manufacturer but still owned by worcester bosch.

Just burn down the house, it will be warm for a while at least
and save on those gas bills!

i have a greenstar boiler for about 4 years now - had one issue - the boiler sounded like a jet taking off when the hot water ran. Worcester came and fixed it FOC. The engineer said that the part was £150! I have been happy with the boiler ... but sometimes, if the hot water is running upstairs, then you get colder water downstairs! Hope this helps!

I have installed numerous vaillant boilers over the years both combi and wall mounted system. I have also installed a good number of Worcester Bosch. I have only ever been called back to one vaillant, which turned out to be no fault of the unit, customer had been messing with the screw down valve for the incoming main to the property, which I'm turn had affected the hot water flow rates, (well intentioned handyman) I have on the other hand been called back to more than one Worcester and find them very engineer unfriendly. Hence the reason I have installed a vaillant ecotec plus 837 in my own home and if asked would recommend vailliant every time. Great hot water production and even the mrs knows her way around the digital interface with no problems and she is as layman as they come. What more can you ask for haha
