Which cable to make Wii visuals better?

Like the title says, when I played the Wii this Christmas, it was great fun. However, there is something in the screen that just doesn't fit.

With the ps2, I changed the scart cable with an rgb cable, and the results looked instantly better (colour more sharp and less jagged edges, just looks better). Is there any cable (excluding hdmi b/c I don't have hd tv) that will have that same effect?

P.S. I know that the Wii isn't about graphics, but I want to make the most of my first next-gen console!

I bought a component cable from ebay for about a fiver delivered (from HK I think) and it's a definate improvement over the standard cable you get in the box. My TV is a Samsung 40" LCD.

I just bought one off deal extreme .... dealextreme.com/det…493 £5-£6 delivered

This Deal Extreme cable is even cheaper - I have one, and it works fine, giving a much sharper picture - it is less than £3 delivered - ]http//ww…256

A component cable will give you the best picture from the Wii, if it's a non-HDTV without component input then RGB scart is next best.

hard to make a wii look good but component is best then rgb.

Thx all for the help. My tv only has the 3 colour inputs yet the component cables has 5? Is my tv missing some inputs?

component cable has just 3 colour coded phono connectors each end, i think wii has extra 2 just for sound.

    standard componet http://www.tvcables.co.uk/images/items/comp.jpg

wii component 2 phonos on left are just stereo http://images.play.com/covers/3431653x.jpg

i think your tv has red white and yellow if crt that means just stereo and video, rgb is best you can get, i doubt you have component connections on your tv, even my £2500 36" crt does not have component, rgb is best you will get from your tv m8

That sounds like the composite connection - this consists of yellow (video), white and red(both audio) connections and is standard on most TVs.

Component is normally only found on HDTVs and needs all five (Red, Green, Blue, Red, White). If you don't have component, RGB scart is the next best option although you willl need to check your TV supports this. It's' quite standard that TVs have multiple scart sockets but only one which is scart enabled.

The lead shipped with the Wii has these connections, is this as good as it gets if your T.V. doesn't have component input? :?

No, RGB scart is better than composite although you need to buy a separate cable for it and have an RGB enabled scart socket.

    Thanks for that

Mine has 2 scart sockets, I will do a search online(can't remember where the manual is) to find out if one of them is RGB enabled.

Yes, 1 of them is RGB enabled, but it seems that deal extreme don't do an RGB scart lead.

I just seen an official one in the deals section for £10, so will go for that.
