I recently bought the 1501 deal below but it's arrived with various faults which may prove hard to prove. I don't like it's size either, it's not very mobile and is noisy. The laptop spec is below.

AMD® Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL56

15.4" Wide Screen XGA TFT Display: 1280x800
2048MB 533MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x1024)
120GB (5,400 rpm) Hard Drive
Fixed Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Drive including Software
ATI Radeon® Xpress 1150 256MB HyperMemory
4Cell 29WHr Primary battery

Free Nylon Carry Case

Services & Software
Microsoft® Works 8.5 - English

I was worried that if I had to order again I'd miss out on the £25 extra cashback quidco deal, so on the tenth I order another inspiron with the intention of sending the first one back. I added TRUELIFE to the spec below for about £25

305-N036M2 - £539.32 or less delivered
Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor T5500 (1.66 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB)
Genuine Windows Vista Business - English
14.1" Wide Screen WXGA (1280x800) TFT Display
1024MB 533MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x512)
160GB (5,400 rpm) Sata Hard Drive
Fixed Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Drive including software
6 Cell, 56Whr Lithium Ion Primary Battery
56.6k V.92 Capable Internal Modem & Adapter
Intel® Pro Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g Mini-PCI Card (for Core 2 Duo Processor)
McAfee® Security Centre 8.0 - 15 Month Protection - English
Microsoft® Works 8.5 - English
1 year warranty

I ordered the above on the 10th so assuming I get the £25 quidco bonus, which one do you think I should keep, taking into account that the 1501 is abit faulty.

The 640m arrives on wednesday, do they tend to be more portable and quieter than the 1501?

Having a good vista package isn't important to me.

For anyone that bought a 1501, you might want to look at this thread, if a certain fault has occured.

the 640M is certainly more portable...hopefully Mike T the Dell expert can advise you regarding noise levels...I cannot recall this being an issue on HUKD before..
