which one do you recommend for Broadband providers?

we are with Tiscali/talktalk now and having a nightmare with us moving house and them demanding money to install a phone line thats already there so when we eventually move we want to leave them, they've messed up our account already so needing someone who is quick to supply too
we are under 2 miles from the exchange so speed shouldnt be a problem. must be unlimited downloads high download speed just in case.

    who do you guys recommend?

02 all the way and guess all other replies will say same!!

Do you have Virgin cable in your street?

    If so go with them.

Cable if you can get it and if not I'd go with Be

lol thanks. rep left. how fast are they at sorting out new accounts?

Erm they take about 3-4 days, so not as fast as you may want?

    Bethere/o2:thumbsup:

    Avoid virgin media.

Be / O2 but not the O2 Access package

I went from Bt to O2 broadband over a month ago and my speed went from 5 meg to 12 meg and great uptime.
Bt told me that my line was only capable of up to 8 meg (Lying Gits)
I also have turned my home phone over to o2 for unlimited package at £12.50 a month.
O2 Pro broadband is £15 a month or £10 if you are on O2 Mobile
    O2 is Top Class

BT business broadband has great speed and uptime. Only £20+VAT

[QUOTE=vinylandtrinkets;8869069]how are your phone bills with o2? does there need to be a BT line into the house? the house has a phone installed by BT but using sky for calls, and everyone ive spoken to says i have to pay BT to install a phone line? we are with Swalec at the minute and will be paying them £90 to " install" the line. not on a tie in so we could leave any time.

My phone bill was £12.50 with no extras.
You do need a Bt Phone and they do not charge you any set up fees or connection charges
As long as you have a BT Phone line already up and running then there are no set up fees
I personally recommend this company so if it goes t**ts up then blame me but i am very happy withy the service

We are currently with Sky for calls and O2 for broadband. Will second others, service is fantastic, fantastic customer service, fantastic price, and took two days to set up. Highly recommend.

I've heard mixed reviews from others, buy Sky have been very good in terms of speed and connection. Only problem with them is that they have an annoying habit of 'upgrading' the package for a few quid extra and then making a move to the new tariff compulsory a few months down the road.

(see the recent 10gb allowance drop and the upcoming move in September as examples)

stear well clear of Plusnet, possibly the worst company i have ever dealt with, shocking downtime, constant gaming lag, 30 mins to get through to NO customer service (clueless). When i cancelled my contract (1 day after the end of contract) they charged me £72 for varies fees which applied to someone who cancelled within the 12 months (not me) and they tried to tell me i was in the wrong several times (idiots) but i actually got to speak to someone who had half a brain and realised i was correct and have now gave me back my £72.

    you have been well warned.

i am in one of those area that when you type in your phone number none of the good deals come up :x but i know a few people who are with sky and say they are good but stear clear of their access package.

i ended up with Aquiss, quite pricey but fantastic service.

For possibly the most reliable connection and the best customer service, IDNet.
