When I took out the skirting boards in the living room at my Mothers house I found a silver crown coin think it was from around the 1890s took it to a collector & was worth approximately £90 no idea where the coin come from though as the house wasn't built until the 1940s :thinking:

I believe it was a tradition that when someone moved into a house, visitors would push coins under the skirting or between the skirting and carpet 'for luck'. I remember people doing this at my parents house just after we moved in.
