Who am I insured with

24
Found 7th Oct 2012
I have just got my new car and need to change my insurance. But I can't remember who I am insured with. I can't find the documents after turning the house upside down. So is there a website where you can check who your current policy is with?
I know it's only got about a month left so also is it possible to remain insured on my old car (which I still have access to) and get a new insurance policy for the new car at the same time. If you know what I mean
Thanks

Doesn't it say on your statement/online banking who takes your payments?

Why not check your bank statement?

I did a one of payment. But as its near the end I know I won't get any refund
So basically all I want to know is can I be insured on both at the same time

if you still have your old car, you need a policy or policies to cover both. I found that marks spencer wer very good, so ring them up.
They may access your old car reg and tell you who /when it expires. the insurer usually sends a reminder to persuade you to stay, but always best to shop for new policies, on line.

Follow this link to the motor insurance database

mib.org.uk/Dow…htm

So your not insured then. Seen this too many times on road wars.

I'm sorry I have more things going on in my life than to remember who I'm insured with unlike a few people on here having digs

And if you were to have an accident and need to swap details - what then? Don't you keep your insurance details in your car or in your wallet?

One of payment a year ago. Just going through my old bank statements at the moment

Am I correct in saying that you used to be advised not to keep your insurance documents in the car in case the car got stolen and the people who stole the car used it to prove insurance. This was in the days of producers though

My memory is like a sieve, but I remember my insurers name at least...

Hope you find it OP!

Found it. Thanks to the few people who helped and all the people that think I'm a **** for forgetting who I am insured with and losing paperwork, please try and get a life instead of slagging someone off

You can insure 2 cars but you can only use your no claims on one. You'll also need to contact your current insurer for proof of no claims to forward to your new insurer.

Anyway good joke thread OP, had me going for a while. X)

Tried searching your inbox? Presume you did it online, unless you took the policy out 20 years ago.
