    Yeah just join and edit...

It relies on there being more sensible people than idiots. I think when something entirely new is added it makes it clear this hasn't been confirmed until a few more active wikipeeps have confirmed it. I may be wrong... never partook myself.

did you enjoy your visit to the moon? you must have been there for a while!

We could start a CoDBO page with all of the "confirmed" info we have on this forum.

Yes. But I think they need to be verified before they are posted.

But I have heard about celebrities reading utter lies on their Wiki pages.

that makes more sense, as surely anyone couldnt just sign up and edit what they wanted.. that would never work.

Find something that can be improved and make it better—for example, spelling, grammar, rewriting for readability, adding content, or removing non-constructive edits. If you wish to add new facts, please try to provide references so they may be verified, or suggest them on the article's discussion page. Changes to controversial topics and Wikipedia's main pages should usually be discussed first.

I think the number of sensible contributors greatly outweighs the people adding 'funny' stuff. I remember adding something stupid for a laugh and I got banned about 2 minutes later!

You've gotta remember there are probably hundreds of thousands of people using it every few minutes. The user base is just enormous. I sometimes edit things which are wrong but I've never made any large additions (usually just factual or grammatical edits).

Sometimes they are just reading true facts that they disgree with.X)

Biographies of living people on WikiPedia now have strict rules over what can and cannot be included.

Everything should be 'sourced' which means that after every sentence or paragraph are a list of reference numbers, for example [3][4][5]. If you scroll down to the 'References' heading near the end of the article you see that each number has a web page link that confirm that the information in that paragraph is accurate.

Sometimes plausable but unsourced information is tagged with [citation needed]. As one celebrity on Twitter said "sometimes [citation needed] is the polite way of saying 'that's b*llsh*t'."
