Who is putting their Christmas tree up today?

Or have you bought/are you buying a real tree?

I've been fighting with mine since 10.30am. It's nearly 12pm and I haven't even got the lights on yet. All this faff for one day - but it's worth it when you look at your finished tree!

We've left our tree up since 2012

    mines already up too

For the first time ever mine went up before 1st December. Unusually I seem to be in a Christmas mood this year

Iv done my kids a homemade advent calendar and today's activity is putting up the tree. I'm a tad hungover though so well do it later!

Put mine up 2 weeks ago.

and I thought the shops started too early.

putting my tree up today with the help of a 3 and 1 year old......

My wife made me go and get one this morning.

After destroying the interior of my car with sap and needles, moving half the living room around to fit the bloody thing in, a trip up the loft to get all the decorations/lights down and I have now been informed these are not right......

So much for a day at home watching the footy!

Obviously its your fault they're not right!!! tree wrong colour too i bet?? Get her doing the tree and decs, and leave you to watch the footy.

What ever happened to 12 days before, 12 days after?.

    It gets earlier each year.

Why follow some completely random rules that someone else made up? If you like having a tree and decorations up longer, then have them up longer. Nothing wrong with that.

Felt like I was on Facebook by mistake then

Went to get ours today. Daughter insisted we needed a real one so of course in the spirit of Christmas, she won!
Just letting it rest before decorating (plus I need more tinsel) and hoping the cat doesn't go climbing!

    Putting it up what? oO

12 nights before and 12 nights after is only an idea, not a strict rule. A lot of people like to put their trees up on the 1st December - what's wrong with that? The beauty of Christmas is that people celebrate however they like, eat what they like, decorate their homes how they like etc, and long may it continue!

I got a living one from home base for £6.25 last January . Been outside in the garden all year . Just dragged it in and stuck a few lights on it . That'll do

Put mine up on 1st Dec this year a week earlier than usually do. Took over 2 hours thanks to the usual fight with the lights but once they were sorted I quite enjoyed it. One job out of the way at least.
