If they've told you that's the end date, then that's the end they won't go back on it.
Have you asked for your pac or just terminated? Because using the pac would end the contract sooner. . .

no i didnt ask for the pac as i am not fussed i will just have a new number the person i spoke to said i had to give 30 days notice which is why they are saying the 7th sept plus this is the date the direct debit is taken just really want to get another contract now but yeah i am scared they will go back on it i dont want to end up paying for 2 contracts.

You'll get a letter soon to confirm it.
We did about a fortnight ago, coulda been less then that.

oh right i only got the text message off them 3 days ago and after seeing the post on here about it i thought i would try my luck.

Shouldn't be any problem. You've already entered into a verbal agrement, you'll probably get it in writing too soon enough.
Don't worry :-)

Thats true although orange can have 'nothing' of it if the CS just said it to get rid of you.

You don't have proof either, thats the worst bit. You should ring back and get someone to confirm the date for you.

well i did ring off the mobile in question it would come up on the bill that they have been rang.if they try all that i will just cancel there direct debit.

for future ref always best to cancel in writing recorded delivery, doesn't matter if they ignore it as long as you keep that rd slip.
We did 2 contracts and they just canceled them in 48hrs no 30 day non sense.

You still need to give 30 days notice.
