lol

I didn't know that you could leave neg rep anymore?

You're normally not able to leave neg rep but some know a way around it. It is frowned upon by the mods and will probably earn you an infraction if you try it.

I deleted it Sassie because the guy who left it might not have done it on purpose.. (He didn't leave an offensive message, nor did he try and disguise who he was.) It's not really fair to tell everyone his name, especially when he is suspended and can't defend himself

then why remove all his rep, i assumed rayman could tell who gave it with or without a name, hence why i didnt post who it was till his rep had been removed. I personally thought it was a mistake but not sure how you can mistakenly leave neg rep:? And there is no suspension under his name

dcx_badass;2593070

It's not simple to leave neg rep, there's no way they did it by accident.

debatable really.

Yeah, i just looked to see if they were suspended as well...and the person in question isn't.
I thought there was a special way to leave neg rep anyway so that it couldn't have been an accident?

I didnt have a problem with someone leaving me neg rep, i was concerned there was a bug in the system hence my post in feedback, it said cheers, so assumed it was a bug, then to see the members rep disappear i assumed it was deliberate

ooops ok i see you forgot to add the suspension, well if it wasnt deliberate then why remove all his rep and suspend

What does negative rep look like? if it is a black or grey square then I got some for something that was not offensive at all (infact I was trying to help!!)

I was just reading an old thread about it on here, it stays grey even when they get more rep

bring back neg rep

Don't think rep colours change from when they have been given...

Rayman takes neg-rep offences pretty seriously - he docks a lot more points than a neg-rep takes off!!!

Not sure whats gone on in this case, but as I see it whilst the idea of negative rep still exists within the code of the site (albeit from a 'locked' radio-button) the potential for a bug\browser incompatability leading to a neg rep will still exist. Even though the rep is controlled by vBulletin I'm surprised its not possible to remove the concept of negative rep altogether....

did the rep lead to a post by you aimed toward the repper (or generally positive post)?
If I remember the method correctly it'd be pretty hard to pull off neg rep accidentally.

he asked a quoestion, i and a few others answered, all the same answer i think, checked post and he has just said, cheers guys, rep left, and the rep left for me was cheers followed by his name (but with a red square so you can see why i thought a bug in system)

You're probably right, but I think it would be possible, for example, to have a form-filling extension running which could misinterpret the rep-form and inactivate the button thinking it was an 'opt-in' button. At the moment the rep form just tells the browser to disable the button - meaning it can't be toggled by the mouse. Third party extensions can however easily toggle the buttons automatically.

how do you neg rep. i never knew
