WRONG!!!

Should have read the book. Much better.

Phone the police and get a divorce.

There is nothing wrong with it!

I let my boys watch older films, i know they are ok with them, think its up to the parent to decide if the child is ok with each film, if they have friends over i dont though, as its not my call

Outrageous I will be notifying child line :whistling:

depends on your kid tbh. I watched 15+ jackie chan films when I was 8, but I guess that's different, with not much blood/sex anyway.

my opinion is that as long as she had watched it first and knew the content then its ok-if she just put it on without having watched then I would disagree. letting a 12 year old see a 15 is not comparable for instance to allowing a 6 year old to see an 18.

Responsible parents can make informed decisions for themselves-I would allow my 13 year old to see a 15 as long as I had seen it first and knew the content. I would allow my 17 year old to see an 18 under the same circumstances-depends on the content-if its a 15 cos a coupla bad words are said thats one matter,if there are people being decapitated all over the place thats another.

just my tuppenceworth.

lol, well i've not seen the film but i'm sure at 12 he will be fine. most 5yr olds watch 12's! (12a when at cinema too)

i dont see a problem with it tbh its only a film x

I would also say the film is a 15 at a push it's each to there own though

Does the boy not go to school ??? Far worse is seen and done at the best of schools, where have you been???

i dont see the problem i think it should be ok

someone somewhere thought it appropriate to give it a 15 cert.

I dont think the OP wanted thoughts on the film, more thoughts on his wife over ruling him......

whats next is she gonna attack him with a rolling pin

I Am Legend is fine for a 12 year old, some parts may be a little scary but there's nothing too rude or gory in it tbh.

I was just curious as to everyones thoughts...I watched Max Payne the other night on skyHD which is a 15 rating but I thought it should have been an 18 rating. I wouldn't let him watch that!
He watched Alien vs Predator yesterday and each day he is pushing his mum to watch other 15 rated movies. She does ask my opinion but I am so laid back I say its up to her unless I have a strong reason why not. I know I said I was against him watching it in the 'OP' but I wasn't really bothered either way...lol

if you dont want him to watch him, dont let him, simple as, lol @ letting the women make the choices

fail son

Hes my step-son so I allow her to make the decisions concerning him...that's all:whistling:

That is shocking behaviour i have never seen an 18 rated movie before and didn't see a 15 until a couple of months ago. Ratings are there for a reason! Why dont we just ignore speed signs whilst we are at it too!

That movie is fine

far more scary stuff and violence on the news

I have to go against the grain here, ratings are there for a reason, I personally wouldn't have let my daughter watch a 15 at 12, but then she's very young for her age.

And as for the "they see worse at school" argument, IMO you have to draw the line somewhere.

I agree

I would not let my 11 year old see "I Am Legend". There is no harm in waiting a few years for him to see it. If your stepson is closer to 13, then he may be a little more mature. Watched "Hancock" last night and was surprised it was only a 12. Have to admit my eldest will not be seeing this just yet, just for the simple fact that his younger brothers would watch at the same time. I think film ratings are a lot less strict than they used to be.

Kids mature at different ages. The ratings system is a broad marker but ultimately it's down to the parents.

unless your kid is a nut who will now go about with an alsation shooting up zombies then I don't see the problem, if he is then what film he watches is the least of your problems.

My cousin watched texas chainsaw massacre when he was 7....

My thoughts?

Big deal.

Now, if it was 'Debbie Does Dallas', 'The Exorcist' or 'Saw 67' then that would be different. But 'I Am Legend'?

Chill out man.

My favourite film when I was 5 was American Werewolf in London, it's a film - it's make believe....

its fine imo

Let the poor boy watch it!

I remember when i was about 12, a friend of mine wasnt allowed to watch The Simpsons cos of the word crap

I've watched and played stuff that was out of my age category and it hasn't messed me up in any way, at the end of the day as long as a child has a grip on reality everythings fine! I'm 18 now but I'm pretty sure I had my first 18 rated game on the sega megadrive when I was 6-7 but in those days it wasn't really graphic, tbh streets of rage would be pg now

Get him a laptop and tell him to look at porn like a normal 12 year old

My 6 and 11 year old have watched it a couple of times, I cant see the problem?

'Ratings are there for a reason' - true enough. But I look at what it's rated for, before I make a decision. Sometimes it's mainly language, and my daughter hears worse on the school bus!
