Wii Fit- dont knock it till you try it!

Got mine for the kids on Friday and I can honestly say its FANTASTIC!! The kids think its brilliant fun (they are aged 11 and 18) but I think it really comes into its own for me!! I am a couch potato to say the least and this is far easier for me to pull the board from under the settee, bung the disc in the Wii and do the exercises that are at most 3 mins long! OK- I can hear you all screaming "get off your bum you lazy so and so and do some exercise! and I can also hear you screaming on about the Wii Fit being an expensive waste of money when I could just work out to an exercise dvd! ( I can hear all this cus I have very good ears!!! I am a Mom after all!!)
BUT as far as I can see, £65 is cheaper than a gym membership (I have been a member of a local gym for nearly 3 years and have probably only gone 7 times in total!) and if I have the facility to exercise in the house in short bursts that dont kill me, then I am more likely to do 30 mins a day (which I have been doing). Any exercise is better than none, and in my opinion the Wii Fit is well worth the money, and the wait for delivery.

    Thanks, have some rep

Murie, couldn't agree more. Sounds really good.

My problem is, we don't have any game consoles. Mine are flying the nest. I assume this is only useful if you have got all the hardware first

Aww thanks you didn't have to do that :). The kids are just taking ours out of the box - I can't wait to have a go!

23 st is right- although I am well under that weight I was worried in case it collapsed when I stood on it!! It's design build is excellent- very sturdy and stable. The only recommendation I can make is to use it on a hard surface rather than carpet as it can give some unusual readings. I apparently gained 7lbs in the space of 4 mins ( I had got off to answer the door to the postman and it re calibrated my weight when I got back on). However, if you are doing it for a bit of fun with the benefit of a mini workout like I am, then this wont bother you too much. Go on- dive in!! Its a great laugh and good for you!!

    iglimpse-
We managed to get the console for Christmas for my daughter but in reality the whole family use it! Its expensive but if you can get the Wii for £170 and the Wii Fit for £70 then the total of £240 for an "at home" workout is quite economical I feel.
I paid £576 for a 3 year gym membership which as I say I have used probably 7 times! add to that the number of exercise dvds that have accumulated in my cupboard at prob £10 a time.I would have been better off waiting for the "Wonderfull Wii" !!!

That's ok, you didn't have to find me the info! :-D

Just can't decide whether this is worth it or not, whether we should buy a wii and this when we already have a 360 or whether we should just get out more walking or something!
