Wii Points - Are all games supposed to have them?

We got our daughter a Wii and a few games for Christmas, in some of the games we noticed there was a card with a scratch off panel for Wii Points but some games didn't have one, i.e Mario @ The Olympics didn't have one - is this is correct or is it potluck whether you get one or not?

Also, can I use these points in payment towards getting Opera for the Wii so I can access the net?

Not all games have VIP points. Something to do with which games are licensed by nintendo I think.
When you have enough VIP points on the nintendo website you can exchange them for wii points (they're not always in stock online tho) and the wii points you can buy opera or games with

Yes we found that many games do not come with points.

What does 500 points equate to in £££ ?

2000 points are approx £14.50 from the likes of Argo & Play - 500 points would therefore be £3.62

It should have remained free like it was for me and many other Wii buyers.

Be aware that if you collect stars for VIP(These are only in games box where it says PAL NINTENDO or NTSC Nintendo and not licensed by as pointed out above )anyways Nintendo changed terms so that they expire now. They did this a while ago and I know lots of people who were really annoyed and lost over 13,000 stars which they could have traded for wii points as everything else in catalogue was out of stock always and I tried for over 4 years to get something decent and it never happened anyway in revenge they all soft modded and play games for free now
