    Wii U any price drop?

Does anyone think the Wii U is going to drop?
I'm debating whether to buy the Splatoon bundle with free Minecraft game for £239!
    I need one for Xmas!!

I was thinking that, shame really as I had thought we may get a slight deal before Xmas.
Always the thought I should maybe wait and see although I would probably then miss out completely

I can't see it happening to be honest. Maybe people selling second hand consoles to buy the switch but people know nintendo products hold decent value. Even more so on a discontinued failed product. I certainly will not sell any of my Wii U stuff.

Utterly mad if anyone pays more than £100 for this console at this time.

Really for a new one?? X)

Not sure not will. Nintendo have kept strictly control of the number made and there aren't many knocking around retail

You obviously aren't up to date with what can be done to them now. This is why they are retaining their high price value.

hmmmm perhaps.....i would get a 2nd hand one personally if you really want one.

I managed to get one with Mario kart8, Donkey kong, mario world, black ops 3, nintendo land, a mario and luigi remote for £160.....sold everything apart from the console and mario kart 8 (all i wanted) for £140. getting it effectively for £20, very good condition......i then was very disapointed in it and sold it on for another £140.

so unless it HAS to be brand new, i would defo recommend getting a 2nd hand bargin, as many people will be ditching them

Got mine in early 2013 for 130 quid off a guy on eBay brand new. Seriously, just eBay it Nintendo pricing is ludicrous on this should be under 100 by now

People are paying over £100 for a NES with 30 games... I'm sorry but an item is worth what you're willing to pay. A 3ds still retails over £100 so a Wii U is definitely worth more than a 3ds in my eyes any day of the week. It has a niche market but with offscreen play and a family console with some amazing games it is worth £150+ in my opinion.

They have stopped supply in Japan but can't remember what they said about the rest of the world. I have the feeling the price won't drop and if they are stopping production then they will be happy to sell off the remaining stock full price. I wouldn't be surprised if people start panic buying the Wii U once they find out they are no longer on the shelves.

Some gaming experts are predicting that although the Wii U did not sell well, in the future it will become quite a popular collectors item as people always want a part of Nintendo's history and the fact that they are known for low production means that their old games, consoles etc increase in value and capture the fans imagination.

There is intrinsic value and market value. The fact that folk inflate the market value well beyond what a product is intrinsically worth is an expression of the state of mind some people have - it's why panzer dragoon saga goes for 150 pluso and why some folk claim a combination of factors justifies the cost.

It's also why ebay is the best option for purchasing it; you aren't tied to rrp or msrp pricing and can take advantage of a scenario, like I did 3 years ago, where someone doesn't value the item and is willing to sell it for a reasonable price.... the key being reasonable.

The Wii U has a recycle architecture and a 7 generations old gpu, almost zero storage and a dvd drive and a handful of decent games.... j7st like the atari jaguar or the Sega Saturn or the dream cast. The difference? Fan boys.... pure and simple

Someone bought Donkey Kong, Mario 3D World, Black Ops 2, Nintendo Land & 2 Wii remotes 2nd hand for the same price they cost new? oO Some people are proper mugs.

What a load of rubbish... The Wii U is the most used console in my house. Which includes a gaming PC, an Xbox 360, a 3ds and an Xbox one. Everyone has there own opinion and personal preferences yours is exactly that. So in my house the Wii U wins hands down and is easily the best value for money on its entertainment value alone. Some people want graphics and will happily sacrifice gameplay where others can enjoy playing games for entertainment.

Yeah sold them each separately about a year ago, and was getting very close to RRP!
The Mario and Luigi remotes alone got me £60 (only £70 new)

That's your opinion though...most people would disagree that your are sacrificing gameplay by playing a ps4/PC or Xbox compared to a Wii u. In my opinion graphics and gameplay fall way behind

Exactly my point. Everyone has their own opinion and preferences. What I'm saying is a price can be based on numerous factors. For me £200 for the Wii U is better value than £200 for an Xbox One. So a product is worth what someone is willing to pay regardless of what anyone else says. Items become rare making them more unique this alone plays a part in a value of a product. Right or wrong that is how things work; the same way games now drop in price so fast as they are mass produced and sold in the millions. Once a certain amount has been obtained the price can be sold at a fraction of the cost. Rendering the said items worthless.
