WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE boots- trek, mountain, urban, city, casual, sports, leather, synthetic, goretex, vibram, whatever but proper wide fit

Are there any truly wide (EEE or wider) boots that are decent quality (waterprood and won't fall apart after just 1 year) and price (100 quid) and easily available? Online order is fine if I can order a few sizes to try and they allow free returns.

Almost all "wide fit" isn't really wide. It'd hardly be called wide in regular footwear with thin socks so this is very frustrating. Apparently there are some specialty brands like Altberg and Scarpa but these are quiet expensive and very hard to find.

Id say £100 will just about get anyone of standard width a decent pair so taking into account that what you are asking for are specialised and the company need to make its money on them I doubt it. I know Merrells do wide but they start at about £200. I really wish you luck in finding a pair at the price you want.

See altberg.co.uk but typical price £165.

my recommendation, altberg.co.uk/
best bet is to take a trip up north to their shop for a fitting and they can do custom fitting if needed but you can order online
may need to double your budget, and these will def last, and soles can be replaces etc too
I have a paid or the peacekeeper p1 aquas, great and worth the £150 they cost
I took a trip up and had them stretched for me to fit

I indicated £100 as an ideal target for a decent pair. I don't think it is unreasonable, my benchmark was Clarks boots which are typically priced around £100 but often on sale for less which are good enough quality, just a shame their wide is not wide enough.

I used to buy Merrell Jungle Mocs (slip on) in wide fit which were comfortable as they stretched. I had looked on their site and looked again to confirm, I can't find any wide fit on the UK site. Only the USA site has the wide fit models, search J21279, J60787, etc and compare if you don't believe me. Very strange they do this.

£165 isn't a problem, £100 wasn't a hard budget, just an ideal target for decent pair. Reading reviews Alt-Bergs are more than just decent so I don't mind paying extra. They are not the easiest to try or find however.

Thanks. As above, main challenge with Alt-Berg is finding them, budget is not an issue. I would prefer paying £200 for a pair that will last 3-4 years and can be resoled, etc. over £100 for a pair I will throw away after 2-3 years.

I will search more extensively for Alt-Bergs now, I had given up seeing many closer to £250 with not many sizes in stock. Any alternative brand recommendations? Cheers

Maybe worth contacting ebay sellers to see if they can find you a pair. m.ebay.co.uk/itm…489
