If it's got connectors like this:

Then yes. Will need reformatting, which you can do in Windows (My Computer > right click drive and select "Format) or using something like GParted if Windows is having trouble recognising the drive. Will need formatting to get all the old content off anyway, and sort out the bootsector.

It loks like the one in the second link, thanks.

the only problem i am having when i put it in the computet the computer cant find it,im not sure why any ideas please, thanks.

you may need to make it a slave to the original hard drive so you can see it.
you may need to format to match existing hard drive

Is it detected at the BIOS screen?

Try the GParted boot disk. That should pick it up and let you format it.

As deal warrior said, if it is an IDE drive as you can connect two devices per ribbon cable, you need one set as master and the other as slave, there is usually a small plastic block (jumper) which has to be configured to bridge certain metal pins to configure its operating mode...the top of the hard drive itself usually tells you the configuration.
