Will Corbyn discipline Harriet Harman for her misjudged Holocaust joke?

The only joke here is Ohhhh Jeremy Corbyn...

She's a member of a party which is happy to aquiesce to far left anti semitism.
I see the thought police are out again.
Are some of you immigrants from the former East Germany or Soviet Union who haven't yet grasped the meaning of free speech and the fact that if there is the slightest doubt you don't assume the worst and report people?
In this case as we don't yet have a full time thought crime police department you have to rely on reporting through anywhere you can like a shopping forum.

"Labour MP told joke on BBC One’s This Week as example of humour she found offensive."

She might owe the BBC a small apology if she offended anyone but the issue isn't about racism but inappropriate language.
Is that too balanced for those looking under every stone for a reason to take offense?

AntiSemitism is never far away from the Labour Party. I have wondered if any of the Party have opposed the proposed building of a Holocaust Memorial in London.

If she had offered an example joke about gays, black people or the physically disabled, would that have been ok? I bet all hell would have broken out if she had done so. No, instead she chose a comfortable joke that she knew she would get away with. Retelling an offensive joke as an example doesn’t make it any less offensive.

Who knows what she said in the private meeting"s" she held with the Israelis as no official details exist because she broke Government protocol.

But you are correct. I doubt very much she did recite the 1970/80s joke in a stupid attempt to demonstrate how far the face of acceptable humour has developed over the last 40 years. She just betrayed the acceptable face of ministerial conduct that has been formed over hundreds of years instead.
Oh behave.

From what I can tell it was confrontational and probably inappropriate so showed poor judgement and no more and why I suggested that an apology was possibly in order towards the BBC.
I see no difference as to the subject matter of the joke as within this particular context I am not going to discriminate and create a hierarchy of offences.

The wider context though when you talk about antisemitism is that some people can’t see the clear difference between being against certain policies of the Israeli State and being ant-Semitic.
I think this is a real problem for the Jewish community in general as the sins of the Israeli State get mixed up with Judaism which leads to more antisemitism.
Unfortunately, some people will attack you if you are against certain Israeli policies and try and deflect the argument by claiming you are anti-Semitic.
This is unfortunate for Judaism as it can give the impression that Judaism and Israel are one and the same which to me is counter productive.
I’m pro Judaism but wary of the Israeli political system.
But I am against policies of many States including the UK, USA and Israel but that doesn’t mean I am against the people from those countries regardless of their religion or lack of.
Corbyn and his party are a joke, like all the other parties. No such thing as democracy when rapists, sexist people, anti Semitic people are MP’s

As long as they aren't in prison then absolutely and also paedophiles and terrorists.
I believe in the rehabilitation of offenders but admittedly they will probably have to spend decades doing good works before the general public will forgive them and some people never will.
Are we supposed to stop people who have truly rehabilitated themselves and done good works for decades from running because of something that they did decades ago maybe even when they were young?

Forgiveness will change your life completely.
It's better than any religion.
Imagine not being angry or judgemental or disappointed by anything or anybody for more than a short time.
So you just accept everything and take full responsibility for your life and don't blame anybody else for it.
It's called Freedom to live in the Now and not hold onto grudges from the past.
Holding onto grievances will guarantee to hurt you and nobody else unless they choose to take it on-board.
A bit metaphysical or philosophical for most maybe but better than promoting hating someone for a single thing they did decades ago.

Maybe she discussed democracy, technology, human advancement unlike what she would be discussing with Israel's neighbours. She would have got to watch a beheading or two for such crimes as walking in front of your husband or shock-horror leave the home without a male escort

Maybe she did, maybe she didn't & anything you say outside of that is just pure speculation.

Apart from the fact she violated Government protocol. Because obviously that is fact.

What is the actual protocol? You seem to know all about it.
The real issue is, perhaps, her total lack of judgement . She should have known that an ancient joke, with many variations, would cause "offence" because you can't have a joke with the word "Jew" in it without some people shouting "Holocaust" or anti Semitism.
I wonder what was busier. The BBC phone lines or the board of deputies.
I have no knowledge of this joke, could someone tell me the words so I may learn and analyse how bad?

Agreed, and as an "experienced " politician she should know better than quoting it an a public platform.
Anti Islam = Bad
Ant Semitic = Good
this is the Norm for too many Politicians.
Hate is Hate
If you didn't hear the words there is no form, no colour, no perception, no smell, no feeling, no evil.

Isn't the "that's not funny" qualifier means good intent to the Jews?
Like saying, "A wants to make fun of B." and you qualify this by saying, "that's not funny". You have to say the first part first, else the audience wouldn't know what you are on about.
