can someone explain this to me?

you guys do realise that they make money from doing this? and that by entering, you are contributing? and that the more people phone in (and pay the charge/enter their details online and let them sell on your info), the less likely your chances of winning are, but the prize stays the same? you are essentially putting more money in the pot without the pot increasing.

if you honestly want to think this is worth it, get together and agree NOT to enter, so that one person can enter and win. one call = 1 pound/3 minutes of typing details (for example) put in with a 100% chance of winning 200 pounds = a 20,000% mark up on your money.

whereas if you guys all agree to enter online, thats what.. 50 people? in addition to the 5000 across the country?

but if everyone agrees to enter online, thats what... 5000 people typing in their details for 3 minutes each = 15,000 minutes = 250 hours for a prize worth 200 pounds. going by that example, you value your time at 1/5 of minimum wage. voluntary momentary mass slave labour.

    what am i missing?

    thanks

well, i don't know anyone that texts/phones them in, most enter online for free,
as for typing all your details in i have roboform that does all my filling
in forms for me, so saves me lots of time typing out address/details each time,
once you've registered it doesn't take any time to paste/copy the answer/answers into the form
as all your details are stored on your user profile,

the only time it takes me is to solve the puzzles in the mags which i enjoy doing,
& yes, i've won from these ones a few times

    Thanx Korky

It takes no time at all to do these comps. Thanks to auto fill forms & yourself & others for putting up the answers. And it don't cost even one penny.
