The winner and a guest will stay for two nights, on a B&B basis, at Gidleigh Park, a gastronomic country-house hotel in Dartmoor National Park, Devon. Set in 107 acres of spectacular grounds, this grand half-timbered property offers guests a sense of sanctuary as well as top-notch food.
Chef Chris Eden arrived in September from Cornwall, where he held a Michelin star, and his seasonal menus are inventive and refined. One seven-course dinner for two (excluding drinks) is included in the prize, as well as a glass each of pre-dinner champagne and an almost endless afternoon tea of homemade cakes, scones and pastries.
Gidleigh Park is closed at the moment, but when open offers croquet, an 18-hole putting course, tennis and fly-fishing. Beyond the hotel, Dartmoor awaits if you need an appetite-boosting walk. The prize must be booked at least two weeks before arrival and taken by March 31, 2021, subject to availability and excluding public holidays and the periods August 28-31, December 21-January 15 and February 12-15.Dates cannot be amended once booked.
