The winner and a guest will stay for two nights, on a B&B basis, at Middleton Lodge, an independently owned country retreat in 200 acres of North Yorkshire parkland. Its luxurious rooms and suites are scattered throughout the estate and mix contemporary design with original Georgian features. New this year is the Dairy, comprising a handful of luxurious suites and a cottage with a hot tub on the terrace and a huge copper bath indoors.
Gareth Rayner, the head chef, presides over the two award-winning restaurants. A dinner for two is included in the prize, along with a bottle of wine chosen by the sommelier and a treatment each in the spa, which is due to open this year. The estate is temporarily closed, but the prize can be taken between its reopening and May 1, 2021, subject to availability and excluding public holidays.
