The winner and a guest will stay for two nights, B&B, at the Fife Arms in Braemar - the Sunday Times Hotel of the Year in 2019. The former coaching inn reopened at the end of 2018 in the Cairngorms National Park, and there’s a sense of Victorian opulence throughout. Think William Morris wallpapers, bespoke tartans and an extraordinary art collection, which includes works by Picasso and Lucian Freud as well as several magnificent installations.
The prize includes a dinner for two (excluding drinks) in the Clunie Dining Room, which draws deeply from a Scottish larder filled with venison, fish and seafood. It must be taken before August 9, 2021, subject to availability and excluding public holidays, December 18 to January 3, Easter weekend and Valentine’s Day weekend.
