OMG - I would so love to win this.

For those of you that don't know, Kumlubuk bay is just round the corner from Turunc in South-West Turkey, about 50 mins drive away from Marmaris. It is beautiful here. I usually stay in Turunc when I holiday there and for a great day out, from Turunc you can go on a daily gulet trip of the bays (one of which is Kumlubuk). You sunbathe on the top of the boat (or shelter from the sun, belowdeck). They visit about 6/7 bays during the day for swim breaks and at about 13:00, they do a hand-cooked barbecue lunch on the boat - the whole day cost a ridiculous £10 and lasted about 8 hours the last time I was there about 3 years ago.

As for Kumlubuk bay it is very peaceful. One day I got a private water-taxi over there and had the bay all to myself (or so I thought) for some snorkelling practice. After donning wetsuit and snorkelling gear and entering the water, there seemed to be a very angry local fisherman on the shore and my first thoughts were that he wasn't happy with me. I ignored him at first and then spotted that his fishing line had become trapped in some rocks and that he was actually asking for my help.. I dived down, disentangled his line and he was then very, very happy. (Maybe there's a niche-market out there 8). ).

It's about time I went back and revisited my Turkish friends in Turunc.!
