Many people live in Hard Water areas. This is due to the high levels of Calcium carbonate in the mains water supply. The problem starts when this water is heated because the Calcium carbonate adheres to the heater as Limescale (Calcite) – A ‘scaled up’ kettle is a good example.

However, it does not stop there. Devices such boilers, washing machines, dishwashers, electric showers and coffee-makers all heat water! The kettle is easy to descale, however, with the other appliances it is not so easy and is therefore often overlooked ending in expensive repairs or replacement.Heating elelement

Furthermore the actual build-up is, on average, 1mm. per year ongoing. As the build-up acts as an insulator the energy costs to heat the water increase. (Just think of the cost for running your most expensive appliance – your hot water boiler). In fact, a 1 mm. layer of Limescale will cause a 7% increase in the amount of energy needed!

The solution – Scale Invader. By installing a Scale Invader around the incoming main the Calcium carbonate in the water is modified so that it does not adhere to the heated surface. A ‘one-off’ outlay will prevent any further build up of Calcite and, over time, will slowly remove any existing deposits and thereby save you money by reducing your energy, costs as well as prolonging the life of your appliances.

I agree with t3rm3y here -

Scale Invader modifies the calcium carbonate in the water to Aragonite … Scale Invader modifies the calcium carbonate in the water to Aragonite which remains in solution and does not adhere to heated surfaces. (How Scale Invader works)
