Win Bird food worth £31 @ Ark Wildlife

The robin is a common sight in Britain all year round and can be seen in gardens, parks, woodlands and hedgerows. They are very territorial birds, and though they have an aggressive nature, they are very confident around people. Often when gardening, you will find a robin appearing a couple of feet, ready to pounce on any worms and insects you may have uncovered whilst digging. They can also be trained to take food from your hand.
It was during Queen Victoria’s reign that the robin became associated with Christmas. In the mid 1800’s the postman’s uniform included a bright red waistcoat to match the official red of the new pillar boxes. This resulted in postmen being referred to as ‘robin redbreasts’. This and the robin’s winter presence led to images of robins delivering the mail in Christmas Cards and the two became linked.

Which item of clothing gave Victorian postmen their nickname, ‘Robin Redbreast’?

Shoes
