Windows 7 - License Key for additional laptop.

I have already downloaded and installed Win7 onto my Acer Laptop but I also want to install a copy onto the spare machine that I have.

Do I have to download an entirely new copy and get the license key from that or is there an easier method so I can just use the same DVD that I used to burn the OS on in the first place?

It's a 3gb download and I don't fancy going down that road all over again.

    Any advice?

    Thank you.

I believe you can use the same license key for both installations without problem. Obviously this wouldn't work with a full release version but I'm sure it's OK with thr Release Candidate.

The keys are not specific to the actual download.
The RC keys are generic anyway, so just use the same one again.

Thats cool - thanks for that - It is the RC version.

I have been Win7 for quite a few months now and I have to say that it is the best OS that they have come out with for a long time.

Saying that - I am predominantly a Mac User

Yep, Windows 7 is the best OS since the one released 22 October 2001

Is Windows 7 still available ?? .I tried to download it twice at the begining of the week at work and I got an error mesage, something about the download site. I entered my details twice and got 2 Licence keys but there no good with the OS.Can someone give me a link .please

I heard that the activation keys were linked to what experience you said you had in the questionairre, so there's like 5 or so different keys available.

Sure you will be ok using it again.

I installed the 32x on my laptop and 64x on my desktop, so didn't have that problem

Nah they were generic. Refresh the licence key page and it would give you another one.

this was part of an email i recieved from windows 7 team today:

"Install and activate quickly: You need to activate the RC within 30 days. If you don't you'll receive frequent reminders. If you have misplaced your product key for activation, don’t worry. Just return to the site where you downloaded the Release Candidate, restart the download process and re-enter your Windows Live ID. This will give you the product key you need. (Your product key will work for up to three separate computers, so if you want to install the RC on another PC, you can re-use the same key.)"
