I got CrossClimate too - cba to change winter/summer and little storage to do so. £284 for 4x 205/55/16 at Costco - highly recommend.

+1 for oponeo. camskill have very competitive prices and Amazon often chuck out some crazy prices too

Been driving over 30 years in this country, never felt the need for "Winter" tyres at all. Still, nowt stranger than folk.

why not use chains instead they seem very expensive I just buy used tires they would be between 15 to 20 pounds per tire wether summer or winter they don't really care usually winter ones have thicker threads around 6mm but they do wear out quicker in my opinion

Chains are only for snow, driven on exposed roads they will just break and/or cause damage to the road.

Winter tyres are for slush, standing water, snow, frost, black ice etc.

Right! The only thing is when some people buy cars that are "sports" models or actually sporty cars they come with low profile tyres, often a compound that is good for swift acceleration in drier, warmer conditions.

Those sort of set ups often find an improvement in the dedicated, "winter" tyres in inclement conditions.

I also have been driving for 30 years and until a few years ago I would if agreed with you but now I live high up in a remote area and you need either a 4 x 4 or winter tyres or you are in trouble.
Try camskills, Costco, black circle, Amazon, tyre leader, my tyres I am sure there is a few more sites. If you are going to change them every year I suggest buying 4 rims and just change the whole wheel over , that's what I do.
