    Wireless Adapater: XBOX 360 Help!

We're moving the XBOX upto the spare room for the little one, but on the odd occasion when I play, I shall be using XBL.

Now, at present the Xbox is downstairs in the living room, and is contected to the Internet via a 3m Cable.

WIthout using cable, can I contect using wireless, and if so, what do I need? We have a xbox 360 with 20gb if that helps.

    Rep to al..

You just need the offfical xbox wireless adaptor:

Old Version, for use with B/G wireless routers:

    amazon.co.uk/dp/…Q7O

New Version, for use with the newer N (faster) speed routers:

    amazon.co.uk/Xbo…e_3

It's not cheap though, as with everything microsoft!

It's a console, of course the accessories are ridiculously overpriced.

Unfortunately those seem to be your only choice, I've never heard anyone getting it to work with a normal wifi adapter.

Although if you're only using it for Xbox Live then there's no point in getting the faster one - that's primarily for media streaming and other similar things. Even if your internet is exceptional fast and will exceed the speed of g standard wi-fi (about 10-20mbit depending on distance) the extra speed won't make any difference for gaming only for downloading patches and demos.

After quite a search, the cheapest I've found it is at dixons for £44.99 with free shipping, It very unlikely to go below £40 to be honest.....

Not too bad considering it's £69.99 at Maplin

    Hope that helps ya out!

I use 200Mbps Home Plugs. I had the official wireless adaptor but found it struggled streaming HD content. I got a pair of homeplugs and can now stream HD content from my PC and also HD movies/trailers from the Xbox live Zune service . I streamed the "Avatar" trailer in 1080P. There was a slight delay but that was due to the speed of my broadband (8meg).

There are loads of homeplugs to choose from and they often appear on HUKD at bargain prices. I just sold my wireless adaptor on Ebay for about £35.

do you have a linky to such items? and how do they work?

I think if your a novice when it comes to tech, that the xbox adaptor would be easier to install and use out of the box, then the homeplugs, but then again, you could just get a longer ethernet cable and be done with wireless altogether! def.cheaper lol

The homeplugs are very simple. Easier to set up than the wireless adaptor.
    1. Plug one homeplug into wall and connect to router with ethernet cable.
    2. Plug second homeplug into socket beside Xbox, connect with ethernet cable.
    3. Thats it.

There are lots of different Homeplugs on the market. Make sure you are buying a pair, one on its own is useless. The 85Mbps ones are cheaper but may struggle streaming HD video. You can expand your network with more homeplugs, just make sure they ar compatible with each other.(If different brands)
