wireless bridge advice needed for xbox1 (xbmc)

i've just got a xbox with xbmc for the bedroom to stream content from my PC

i've been looking at homeplugs but since you need at least 2 the costs are looking at £40-55 (depending on speed) - on the other hand i've noticed some cheap wireless bridges going on fleabay

does anyone know if the Linksys WRTU54G-TM (going for sub £25) would work with XBMC to connect to my wireless network?

Well you can't flash it with DD-WRT, so you'd have to look at the manual for it to see if it can work in either wireless bridge or wireless client mode.

If not, look for a cheap router that is on the DD-WRT supported router list and you can flash that on and use it as a wireless bridge.

Note: Due to the fact you only really get about 2-3 MB/s, streaming ISOs of DVDs over wireless is not recommended. Should be fine for music and most videos though.

one of the seller's has the following desc:

"It supports Bridge mode, AP Isolation (allowing you to run VLANs), allows/denies access via a scheduler, and QOS with simple layout with application/port/device priority, making sure you can assign your bandwith where you want it!

So, if you have an X-box, or any other wired network device, just switch the item into Bridge mode, it will pick up your Wifi network and allow you to plug your wired connection into the LAN port."

i'm guessing it must have a bridge mode built in - 2-3 MB/s should be fine for my stuff even the highest quality stuff i have will be say a 1.2gb film lasting 2hrs
