Just wondering if anyone can help...

My brother is having Virgin Media installed tomorrow, but this unfortunately doesn't include the wireless router he needs for the internet. Does anyone have any idea as to what is best?

Hes wanting to spend between £30.00 - £60.00, but other than that, all I know is that it is for Cable internet.

Any ideas would be kindly welcomed...

I used a Linksys WRT54GL when I was on virgin media, worked fine, and they aren't that expensive.

I rang virgin media and asked about wireless routers, having a bit of a grumble at the time that other providers offer them etc etc and they sent one to me and it arrived within 2 days, the router was free but they charged me £7.50 postage

Think it would be worth giving them a ring then?..
If it saves him some money, that'll do!.. did they have any reason as to why they do not supply them as standard? And was it that hard to get hold of one from them..

I'm not sure why they dont supply them as a standard in the original package, most other providers do,I was in a moaning mood (women eh) and just rung em up and blabbered on and on lol think they gave in to shut me up!

I have rung them previously to that and got told they dont do wireless routers so I think it all depends on who you get to speak to,good luck, twas a bargain for £7.50 lol

oh by the way its a netgear wireless router you get from virgin

thanks for your help!

They supply wireless routers for free with the L and XL broadband packages, however with the M package its a £40 one off charge. Probably due to the fact they don't get as much from the monthly payments.

I'm on the £10 a month package!

make sure you get the right one virgin media needs a specific router as mentioned by a previous reply....

No they don't, any wireless router (without a modem) will work.
